I had a great experience at the gym! The employees, specially Karla was very kind and friendly. She made sure to go over the details and speak about the various perks of becoming a member. She also made sure to follow up with me to ensure that my experience was going smoothly, or if there was anything I required. Would highly recommend this gym!

I had a wonderful experience working with Shoya. She helped me signed up for my membership and was extremely informative and eager to answer any of my questions. She made me feel super welcomed and actually excited to partake on this new fit life journey. Superb customer service!

Darryl was Very helpful showed my friend and I around the gym and had great customer service. They have a basketball court and a heated pool which blew my mind! I would recommend this gym to anyone wanting to get there money worth at a affordable price.

LA Fitness in Clifton was great today! Got started quick and easy. Lots of machines and great amenities and classes. Ask for Darryl he will help you with a affordable membership!

Wow what a great first time experience at LA Fitness in Clifton today. Awesome gym I love that all classes are included in the membership and they also have a heated pool and jacuzzi which blew my mind. Clean facility and very spacious with a lot of equipment. I would highly recommended anyone to this gym and they are judgement free. If you ask for Darryl the GM he can help get you started quick and easy.

Great facility and welcoming staff. They have everything you need to get a great workout in. Pool, jacuzzi, sauna and basketball and a huge free weight and cardio area! I would def check them out and ask for the GM Darryl he will make the membership comfortable to get you started toward your goals!

Good gym, and good zumba classes. Xavier a worker, helped explained the memberships and pricing very well. But I would suggest that management wait to discuss memberships with guests trying out the gym for the first time.. until the end of their visit, not as they are walking in. I actually hadn't even used the gym, or seen it yet, and just walked in and management started asking me if I wanted to sign up for a membership. But anyway besides that they have good good and good classes.

West Orange and Kearny sites always greet guests on arrival. Clifton staff barely raise their heads. They just hold up the sensor to scan your card. Last week a lady behind the front desk said hello and it startled me so much that I had to tell her that she's the first person to greet me in MONTHS!!

Overpriced for a place that constantly has broken machines. At least it doesn't smell as bad as when it was previously managed.

Personal training managers are very aggressive into getting you to join personal training. Very expensive and absolutely not worth it. The trainers are good when they actually show up or follow through with contacting you back. When it comes to my health, I personally prefer to work with one person for consistency. The progress you accumulate will probably last for a month or two like your trainer. The person you book your training session with will often give you some excuse about their unavailability or lateness, and when you talk to the manager about it, they'll just tell you to book with another trainer. I've gone through five different trainers, and it's the same story every single time. I guess the trainers don't take it as seriously as the client considering that if you book a 25 minute session with them (regardless or not that you're a group) they only get paid $6. Please learn from my mistake and do yourself a favor and DO NOT GET SCAMMED BY PERSONAL TRAINING.

But if you're cool with a gym that's close to the highway and food places, then this is the gym for you. :)

It's ok overall but slow to fix machines.
There are 3 leg curl machines, 1 that has been down for many months, another that breaks every few weeks.
The locker room is always a mess but the bathroom is usually filthy and incredibly humid

I like this place. They are really open minded for community. I am a member of non profit organization and promote our group in some places! Here the staffs are very supportive and generous! The inside is amazing to work out! I think this is legit place to develop your workout!! Ppl who exercise here look super happy and satisfied:)

Need to do a better job cleaning the place and the hot tub is down 50% of the time which is very frustrating. Make sure you use the lock boxes upfront and not leave any valuables in your locker. Theft does happen as do car thefts in the parking lot. Just comes with the territory living in Northern NJ.

I do like that they have multiple classes throughout the day so getting my workout is not an issue. However, I feel like not all the classes are challenging enough and most of the weights in the workout studio seems to be missing. Overall so far not bad for everything they offer the price is affordable.

looking to workout with dumbbells ranging from 10-30lbs? Not at this gym you wont! but fear not!!! As there are many, many COUNTLESS dumbbells ranging from 100-150 for those biceps curls and shoulder flies! I am so glad to finally find a gym where they only stock dumbbells weighing over 90 pounds. ALWAYS crowded! just the way I like it. OH!! and the treadmills? only about 4% of them work--PERFECT! seriously, i have been searching and searching for broken treadmills for years. thank you LA fitness!!!

I think the jersey dumpster is better taken care of than this gym. It is absolutely disgusting. I tried contacting corporate and they did nothing. Weights are never re-racked and you can find them everywhere even in the bathroom. Machines are broken and management does nothing about it. Avoid at all cost!

The staff and management is rude. I went personally to cancel my membership on Thursday 22 March 2018 around 4 pm EST and nobody help me not even ask why I am there then after 30 mins I went and ask the person sitting inside he told me sit outside and someone will be there to help. After 1 hour sitting I became frustrated and went to the receptionist so a women said that operational manager went for the day. I told her I was waiting and nobody help me since last 1 hour, she replied "Well come tomorrow" I became angry so atlas a manager name Daryl came and promise me to cancel my membership and promise me that I will receive an cancellation email by Monday 26 March 2018. I was waiting until Tuesday night 27 March 2018. I call the gym the receptionist Marisol and ask for Daryl. Daryl never came on phone he always give excuses that he is with customer. Though he was free at time still telling her to tell me that he's busy and return my call . I wait for 2 hours NO CALL AT ALL, then I call again Marisol was so rude she hang up on me every time and telling me that she doesn't know the Regional Manager/ Head Office Number. I call for 3-4 hours overall to cancel my membership. WORST GYM EVER, NEVER EVER SUGGEST TO PEOPLE TO JOIN, MANAGEMENT IS RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL AND DON'T KNOW HOW TO TALK !! SO DISAPPOINTED !!

The most amazing gym! This place is huge and there is a very wide variety of equipment. I enjoyed going to this LA Fitness and it made me want to workout more often.

If I could rate this LA fitness into the negative I would. Very negative experience, staff was very rude to my gf and I, one lady in particular. completely ruined our night there it really sucked. We did absolutely nothing wrong and she made rude remarks and it was very degrading. The crazy part is this was our first time going to any LA fitness and we were just disrespected. Save yourself the trip and find at least another facility to try out because we will definitely not be going back to this one.

The price is right for this fitness facility. Great parking, lots of equipment, staff could afford to be a bit friendlier. Love that they have a pool and a sauna. Not too crowded as long as you aren't going at peak hours otherwise it's pretty mobbed. It works out in my favor because I work weird hours.

Staff is rude and bathroom is always dirty. The staff don't even give eye contact wjen you enter. They just stick the scanner in your face. On several occasions I would say good morning, only to be ignored or greeted back with a half ass good morning. Sounded as if it hurt her soul to say good morning back. Only good thing for me about this gym is I live 5 minutes away and they have a great juice bar.

Terrible service! The sales representative was extremely pushy on me signing up for LA Fitness. I told him I would take my time on signing up. He was suppose to email me a complimentary pass and he never did. I called that same night to inform him about the issue and he informed he would send it. I still have no complimentary pass. I am definitely not enrolling at this LA Fitness.

Poorly trained staff. Semi attentive. Jacuzzi frequently out.... "Customer Appreciation Party" a joke. No food as advertised till maybe later...?? Hope and assume other locations better? Would like Clifton to get it together??

Absolute trash customer service. I have been a member here for over a year and was refused entrance because of a 3 day late payment. I told the guy at the front, who called himself Ephrae (big brown dude), to try the payment again tomorrow when the funds would be available. He absolutely refused to let me in and work out while being extremely rude. He must have been confused and thought he was a bouncer at a club for a second. Now, I don't know if it is standard gym practice to refuse entrance over a 3 day late payment, but everything about this guys demeanor to him refusing me entrance absolutely pissed me off and I canceled on the spot. Now I'm excited to venture out and find a new gym that doesn't treat its members like garbage. If i could give this gym no stars, I would.

DO NOT LEAVE YOUR BABIES OR CHILDREN IN THE DAYCARE! I left my 9 month old there 3 times. The first time, I only worked out for 30 minutes and they were holding her when I came to pick her up, which was great. The second time, I asked them to please don't leave her unattended because she wasn't sitting up too well and will fall back onto her head. When I came to get her, she was sitting alone with an enormous toy placed in front of her. On the 3rd time, I told Tanya that my baby might get anxious when I leave and if she does to call my cell phone and I will pick her up immediately. She assured me that she would call me. I worked out for an hour and when I went to pick my baby up, she was SCREAMING and crying and was left alone in a swing. Tanya told me she started crying when I left. She said, "She looked at me as if I did something to her." Then she put her in the swing and left her to cry the entire time. I asked why she didn't call me like she said she would and her response was, "You can't run to her everytime she cries. I have 3 kids and I know this." So, she took it upon herself to neglect my baby while all the other kids had to suffer through all the wailing. Not only that, but she said she was overwhelmed because she was working alone that day. I spoke to Efrain who told me there was supposed to be 2 people there at ALL times. Efrain said he would call me to switch my gyms and he never called. I went back a second time to cancel the membership and I asked to speak to Gonzalez, the general manager at the time (I believe he is in Union now). As I was walking towards his desk he got up and asked if I had an appointment. I told him I did not. He was very short with me and pointed to another staff member and told me to speak to him. He sat back to his desk and ate his lunch while laughing with the guy I was speaking to. Long story short, no one there cancelled my membership. I went back a 3rd time and a girl told said it would be 30 minutes to speak to someone who can cancel it for me. I went for a walk and came back and she said I had to speak to Efrain again, who was on the phone and didn't acknowledge my existence. I was starting to get impatient and my so was my baby, so the girl said she would cancel it for me right now. It apparently took her less then 1 minute. She said it was canceled and a month later, guess what?? I got billed again. It was never cancelled. This is a photo of my daughter hours after we got home from the gym and her cheeks were still bright red from crying. Btw, Tanya still works there.

Half the equipment is broken. Locker rooms smell bad and most of the locker doors are broken. The staff doesn't fix it or put much effort into cleaning anything. They instead sit on the side making bets on who they think is foolish enough to sign up for a trainer package. If you say you aren't interested, they give you attitude. They came about commission instead of your gym experience. You can find better gyms

I would give them a 0 out of 5 stars if that was at all possible. I don't mind the actual facility, but the people working there are unbelievably rude and unprofessional. You want to know how this gym could succeed LA Fitness Corporate? Get an actual professional to go in as a "member" and see how they treat that individual. Everyone has an attitude and acts like they are really there to have fun for themselves and not actually pay attention to their customers. "Service with a smile" has been replaced with "Service with an attitude" at this place. And I am not going to attribute it to every individual, but most of them are outright unpleasant especially the member services individuals. The front desk is usually pleasant, but how could they not be when they just stand there hanging out with their co-workers and not actually cleaning the place or providing any service beyond mingling at the desk. I have written one google review prior to this and it was pleasant so for me to come on here and use my time top write a paragraph about how crappy the service is here means they must be horrific. Luckily I have a multi-gym membership, I am more than willing to drive the extra way to the next gym so that I don't have to deal with the service from this gym. Why won't I quit? Because they have all the equipment and facilities I want. Good luck to everyone else who frequents it.
