Wonderful school and staff! They treat your children like family! My son looks forward to each and every class! It's so much more than just karate! Highly recommend!

Calla Karate is head and shoulders above the rest! It is not just a school but a family! They get to know each student , teaching them not only martial arts but important lessons about life that helps instill confidence and self discipline . My child has been in their school for over 2 years and it has been amazing to watch her grow , create goals for herself and look forward to going to each class. I highly recommend Calla Karate! There is no other school out there like them!

What a great program! Our son has learned so much, not just in karate, but also in self-confidence and discipline. From Mary and Eddie (the owners) to all the instructors, they have a true compassion and dedication to ensuring their students reach their maximum potential and goals. Our son loves going and constantly learning new skills and techniques. The instructors work great with children of all ages and abilities. The facilities are clean, friendly and great for newcomers. If your looking for a karate program for your child you need not look any further. Highly recommend this program!!!

My son is a long time member of Calla Karate. He looks forward to his sessions every week and can't get enough of the Ninja warrior area next door. Mary and crew make it come to life. I highly recommend this facility, especially for children with special needs.

Love Calla Karate! Sensei Mary, Kyoshi Eddie and staff are wonderful! Salt of the earth people who genuinely care about their students. They are great with special needs children as well as shy/ introverted children who need a boost in confidence. Can't say enough good things about the owners and staff!

I have both of my children enrolled at Calla Karate for almost 3 years now. My 6 year old has matured tremendously from their program. He has developed into a disciplined purple belt, believe me an inconceivable improvement from what he was when he started. My 9 year old has found a place to focus and develop her physical and mental strength. The Callas take a genuine interest in their students and have made both my children feel as if they are family.
The Calla Karate way is not just about teaching Karate , its about living the philosophy in all areas of your life. I am truly grateful to have found this school, and the Callas.

Sensei Ed and Sensei Mary are 1000 percent professional...they are strict, yet compassionate with kids. They provide discipline with learning and have incredible patience. My kids are enjoying the classes and they look forward to them. They encourage the kids to respect each other - and the classes are designed to provide aerobic exercise, form, and technique.
We had the kids enrolled in another school (which I will leave unnamed) and Calla Karate has transformed my kids in only 2 months.

Great program that strengthens, conditions and teaches children in a great manner. Sensi Mary is a terrific instructor and I highly refer to any parent looking for a program for their child, this is it.

Shihan Ed & Sensei Mary are nurturing while instilling the core values of Respect & Discipline! They are by far the best place on Staten Island. If you live on the other side of SI, it is worth the trip 2 days a week!
