It a clean gym that is open 24 hours 7 days a week. Also for $20 plus tax you can bring a guest. The one issue is the parking, they do offer a parking lot but you are only allowed to park for 2 hours after 5 and 1 hour before 5. Which is a bit tricky if you are trying to workout during the day. They also offer tanning beds, booths, and a few other cool features. Also there is a underground level so it is bigger then it looks.

I was excited when PF opened in Newark,NJ I've been a member since May 2018 without any actual usage.
Yesterday I tried to visit the facility and had issue with parking. The parking attendant was rude and said I had to pay $13 after being parked for less than 3 minutes.
I went inside the gym after calling 14 times the lady at the counter was very nonchalant after hearing my parking issue.
I canceled my membership, I would rather go where the service is better no matter the location. I emailed the manager Gregory no help, no apology just instructions on how to cancel my membership.

Very clean and spacious. Young and hip staff. Great spot to get in a sweat and work on them muscles.

Here's a couple of tips for PF Newark:
1) the parking lot could only be used if your home gym is PF Newark. You can only park there for only 1-2 hours depending on the time you go. I go during the week after 5pm which is when you can park for 2 hours max.
2) there is street parking but VERY limited. There's usually spaces later in the day.
3) locker rooms are located on the bottom floor where there are more machines
4) they have good drink selections (monster, bang, propel, etc.)
5) stretching area is usually crowded
6) during rush hour it's busy around the PF
7) locker rooms are always clean

I really wanted to go to this gym because it's near me. I had a membership on RT. 22w, Union a few years ago which I loved an would attend twice in a day but from others reviews sounds like really strange goings on happening at this one. Can't take strange peeps hovering in corners. Doesn't sound like MGMT at this location has any changes planned here. Unfortunate!

This gym needs spin cycle bikes and better updated cardio machines....also it's winter time now and this gym has no heat it's absolutely COLD and freezing in the gym.....the owner needs to do something about this ASAP!

The place was grate. Staffs were friendly too. Clean and well maintained. Free parking for an hour only.

The gym is great but the PARKING is horrible. The parking deck is only 1 HOUR and after that YOU $$$. You have to wait until after 5PM to really enjoy a good work out because then you can enjoy 2 HOURS of parking before YOU have to $$$.

Love this gym. Always clean, friendly staff, plenty of equipments, not so crowded, spacious shower areas. Really enjoy working out here.

You get what you pay for. For $10 a month, I am not expecting much. There have been times that I come in and there's a gang of employees just hanging out at the front either cursing up a storm or trying to flirt with young girls trying to workout. I came in one day and basically waited for someone to scan my card. They turned to look at me then went back to what they were doing until I just walked past them. My biggest issue is the fact that this gym has no scale. This is the first planet fitness I've been to with no scale. A gym with no scale? That's like peanut butter and no jelly.

JUST GOT HIT WITH A 92$ CHARGE-FOR THERE MISTAKE. Joined in early May, gave in my information. Apparently went through on my account. One month in still see no charge. Go back to find they have the wrong bank account information, give them the information again turns out they are off one number...A few weeks pass, I am busy and unable to make to it to gym to close my account. It is July 23rd and I believe I joined on May 5th...Call in to see why yet again my information was wrong, if you do not stay on top of the payments yo will wind up in my predicament. Not enough equipment as well. But I would not recommend coming here.

Planet fitness is an affordable option, located nearby the YMCA offering much of the same. However the money that you pay does not equal clean property or fantastic service. It is worrying to see customers complain that they were asked where they've been when returning after absences. I would often worry in the men's locker rooms that many unsavory characters were there and not for the purpose of working out.

I love going here. I was able to switch my Belleville membership to this location with no problem and now I have access for a two hour parking in the IDT parking lot. I can finally go and workout in peace. The place is spacious and comfortable with everything included. I would recommend this gym to anybody looking for a friendly not over crowded place

Really nice facility. Fairly new I belief and it's being kept clean. Not too overcrowding. Parking lot is fairly small. Showers and lockers are pristine. Oh, and finally a planet fitness that has a professional weight scaled in the locker room. Friendly but young staff.

I love this location, and the staff is excellent!! BUT, the fact that from 9am to 5pm you can only park for 1 hour is really disappointing. Especially being a black card member an hour is NOT enough for a proper workout. From 5pm to 8:59am there is a 2 hour limit! Which i find ridicoulous because each memeber should be able to spend as much time at the gym as they believe necessary. This week i stayed for an extra 15 minutes and had to pay $13 for parking!!!!!! Which is absurd considering that is that amount to park in the parking deck for a full day! This was never an issue when i first became a memeber.

I've only been going to Planet Fitness for two weeks. I like it. It's never crowded, no one's ever staring at you, the guys will help you. Love the fact that my membership includes the HydroMassage who wouldn't love that?.

Took forever to open kept resheduling when they were going to open, now the place is kind of dead cause not many people know it's open and it's smaller than most planet fitness with less machines but it's good to go at night not too crowded or in the mornings. .. It's peaceful

There is nothing to be gained by picking this gym, or at least this location, over any other gym. As someone binded by a Black Card member agreement, half of the benefits being promised aren't even available in this gym location. It's a complete letdown.

Once, after not being to that gym for a little over a month i walked in with a friend and the employee scanned her badge and welcomed her. And when she scanned my badge she asked me where i had been. Way to walk into the no judgment zone getting judged right away. Other than that, the place is a very nice gym with equipment galore and clean and sanitised restrooms. The showers there are very nice which i think is from the taboo of public showers. Since no one trusts them, they're barely used and clean for the barge few.

Great place to workout & very convenient location with public transportation. The staff are very nice & helpful. Biggest thing I like is the staff maintaining with keeping the gym floor, lockers rooms, restrooms & showers rooms cleaned

I have no problem with either the gym or the staff. The hours (24) are great and the equipment is adequate. The only problem I have is with the corporate office( located in New Hampshire) . May you never have a reason to contact them. Had my bicycle stolen from the gym. Told by locals to contact person named Greg Laughlin. Called Mr. Laughlin several times, no response. Had my attorney call Mr. Laughlin, (arrogance personified) .Verbally abusive, hung the phone up and told my attorney never to call back. Refused to allow the City of Newark detectives to review the videotape in order to identify person who stole my bike. Out of frustration I commenced a small claims action. Immediately thereafter my membership was cancelled, reason stated was that I was a "distraction" to the gym. Was not notified of my membership cancellation. Found out when I went to the gym to workout. Just wondering if Mr Laughlin, and/or those involved in my membership cancellation, reviewed my membership photo prior to taking action. Meanwhile, the person who took my bike continues to be a member at Planet Fitness and presumably continues to prey upon other gym members.

Had issues with wrong membership billing at first but worked it out and now I love it. Brand new gym, usually plenty of free machines, locker rooms are huge. Perfect walking distance from University heights.
