The gym has all of the basics, and it's the only city gym, that has A/C (refrigerated air, not swamp cooling) in the summers! I agree, that the humidity and chlorine fumes from the pool are a bit overpowering in winter, not so much in summer, when there's better air circulation, probably due to the A/C. Overall, good staff, pleasant vibe.
The staff here is amazing. The older Hispanic gentleman running the front desk is THE most polite man I have ever met. He's always pleasant and welcoming. He always encourages everyone who comes in which is rare with any employee. I've been going there for 11 years and it's an older but a beautiful facility. The swimming pool is well kept as is the weight room. Well done Salvador Perez.

Grew up here my uncle worked there for 25 years I learned how to swim and how to swim safely and how to survive in a circumstance. Had so many bdays there also my 5th 6th and 8th I believe as well as many cousins

Deeper water than Ft. Marcy, open on Sunday from 9 am.

I have been a member for years their workers are very helpful and friendly
An older pool, but it's basic, clean, easy to get to and has all the anemeties; bathrooms and lockers. Other pools like Geneviva Chavez are modern and high tech, but just getting to that pool takes a half mile walk. Here, it's in and out and then off to do other things. I don't use the gym area, but it seems to have all the basic weight lifting equipment and a bank of jogging/cycling aerobic type machines. Note, the only reason I don't give it a 5-star is that : It's closed on Saturday, I know crazy....I always forget. Don't know of any other gym that closes on Saturday(?)
