Nice amenities. A little crowded sometimes but there's enough equipment so you aren't standing around waiting to use a machine.

Toms River Fitness is the most consistent space in Ocean County when it comes to exercise. Pools, exercise rooms, TRX, free-weight floor, functional fitness abound, and people who can help. You get the personal experience of community fitness without the ego of an owner because the owners are gracious and nice (and in it for the right reasons).
To me this is the best gym in the area. I have tried other places but always return to TRF. It is family owned and I like that. I would rather support local family businesses than those impersonal chains. The classes are taught by top notch instructors. There is a wide variety and they run pretty much all day. The front desk staff is always welcoming and helpful. TRF is just my gym!!
Love this place! Hard to find a 25 meter, 6 lane pool with a full complement of weight, aerobic machines and classes.

Love this place for all of my fitness desires. Clean. Pools are well kept. Nice shower areas. Sauna clean. Lots of machines for cardio and class schedule has variety for interests as well as fitness level. Pleasant staff.

Gym, pool and locker rooms are adequate. The place could use a refresh but is fine for just working out. It can be busy especially when there are children's swim lessons / swim team practice making it hard to swim laps. My biggest issue with the place has to do with membership. We purchased a Black Friday membership 18 months ago and was otherwise satisfied with the facility for working out 2-3 times a week in the pool. When it came time to renew, my husband and I received conflicting information on renewal in terms of plans / pricing via letter and in person. When we did go to formally renew, the manager was extremely reluctant to honor what we were told and, when she did, refused to honor it in its entirety. We when voiced that it was not acceptable, she carried on unprofessionally to state what a good deal we originally got implying that we should be grateful. The membership offers are selective and not uniform. When I called a few months back asking whether they offered membership deals for those who want to pay a year at a time, they simply stated that I would have to wait until my current one expires and see what deals they are running. Honestly, I've never heard of a gym not offering a deal for members who want to pay a year in advance since it's cash upfront and guaranteed. Probably what is most disappointing about the service here is the arbitrary application of rules (which are not clearly stated / posted) and the non-uniform communication by staff. Ultimately, we're not renewing and can go elsewhere.

Everything here makes the workout expierence more enjoyable and comfortable. Chose from the co-ed or womans only sections... And make sure you get a personalized consultation from their professional, compassionate staff. It's also very affordable!

Birthday party.
My experiance was a horrible one due to the staff not paying enough attention to the children they were tending to in the pool area. These two employees are *lifeguards* but we're not paying attention. One child almost drowned. While the child was going under the water, both attendants just watch while the parent is yelling at them to help her. Finally one of them moved got a noodle then threw it at the child. The child was in distress could not get the noodle. Finally and reluctantly the attendant threw herself. It looked like she did not want to get wet. So she finally threw herself in the water, after giving the child the noodle the child slipped while the attendant turned around and went under again. I would assume that you would grab the child and sit them on the ledge, but no the child had a traumatic moment and so did the parent. No apologises were given to the parent. To make matters worse it happened again but to another child. Horrible. Just horrible. After the pool part of the party, came the sitting down for pizza and cake, the attendant just stood against the wall. The parents practically did everything. All the attendants did was clean. Afterwards there was an obstacle course which the attendance gave an introduction too, but did not interact with the children. One child fell and the attendant did not even ask if the child was ok. Just looked while the parents got up to get the child. No experience in the care of children. Need to hire better staff. Also the attendants were not working with any smiles all gloomy I rather be somewhere else type of face. Disgusting.
Cleanest gym around, well equipped .2 pools , steam ,sauna, . If u can't find it here it's not in ocean county
Accommodating when they can. Friendly. Great water classes. Everyone has their forté.
Great classes and instructors. I think the place could definitely use a facelift as it looks pretty dated, but it has all of the necessities and they keep it clean

Best gym ever!! Pool sauna jacuzzi yoga ...Spin classes boxing and an area for really heavy lifting day care that you can watch from the treadmills and such. Fun training groups and much much more. Worth every penny!!
The group classes are the best in Ocean County.
