Very unhygienic. Place is always dirty. Garbage bins are always towering over, never any disinfectant, locker room is always trashed. Bathrooms are always dirty, never any soap. Be careful coming back.to this place once they open up again. If they couldn't clean before the virus, how will they clean after? Back a few years it was clean, sad.
Great selection of classes. Everyone does their own thing in a perfect manner. Very comfortable environment to work out. Excellent!!
Overall a very nice workout environment! Friendly staff; specially Geymy, he is so helpful and very professional. I had an issue with my phone getting stuck in one of the machines & he went out of his way to try to help me get it out. I appreciate the service! 5 stars!!!
This is a great facility. The epitome that is set up in a way that is conducive with functional training. It is clean and well maintained. I am very Impressed with the staff, they are professional and put a great face on this fitness center.

The only problem here was the equipment wasn't very clean. It's a big and nice gym. Just needs more attention paid to cleaning equipment
Great selection of classes. Kids club. Plenty of machines. Everyone does their own thing. Very comfortable environment. Racquet ball. Basketball. Sauna. Locker rooms are fine. For the price it's totally perfect for me. Want highest standards you'll pay double or triple. Need a good workout for an average price? You can't beat this place!

It's an ok gym .. I have had better experience with other LA fitness centers... some of the staff is rude .. they r like - this is what we have , u like it or not, .. not much flexible.. yoga trainers are not great .. they treat yoga as cardio .. sometimes changing rooms stink a lot, no steam room... it's like something better than nothing gym !!
One positive thing is, there is no machine smell in the gym. But, unclean bathrooms, broken locker doors, smelly locker room, a mixture of good and bad staff. I reported machines with wrong alignment yet no action and it's been over 2 months. Otherwise, I love the variety of machines in all branches.

Great gym. Mostly clean, and machines are pretty well maintained. Mixed crowd of clients and everyone is respectible for the most part.

Lots of equipment, and spacious gym overall. Basketball court, pools, and a racquet ball court are usually premium but they've got em.

Good gym with a consistent base of customers.I hear the repair guy now comes on Fridays which will help with keeping the equipment up to spec. This is important as the people here push the bicycles in front of the treadmills to the max. I see a lot of 350 lb people trying to use those bikes which must be the reason they keep falling apart.

A little pricey but totally worth it. Great equipment and assess to so many classes and personal training.
A word of constructive criticism. They should spend more time inspecting equipment at this gym. This is the only LA fitness I go to where machines that are broken are left for months if not a year before fixed. Only one out of the 10 exercise bikes works and there is a shoulder press with a missing handle. Unacceptable! They used to have a repair guy come to this place every week, but the new guy moonlights and uses the time to work out. Perhaps they should get thier staff to do monthly checks of all equipment rather than staring at the computer and gossiping.
I can never understand why they are often out of hand sanitizers, dumbbells and mats are usually all over the place, and why some people are allowed to hog and chit chat over a machine, which is already one of the two available in the entire gym when the other is occupied! It would help if they could add a couple more equipments in the weight area for example back extender...

Heavy bags are located in the room that they teach non stop classes in which means you can never use them as the instructors complain if you use them while they are teaching. Horrible setup for heavy bags.
Has swimming class for kids and they have a baby sitter for all ages. Also in the babysitter there is a little jungle gym
The staff in the front desk should be fired. I am new there and the same person I asked questions for a couple of different times was rude and disrespectful. He was at from desk on Friday 3/16/18 around 6:45 PM. It seems like this person hates people and does not like his job. The locker room was so dark with lots of broken doors. They should train their staffs better and get ride of staff like that front desk person.

They literally stole money. I told them to cancel my membership but they kept charging my credit card even after I called my company and told them to block them. In every way it took forever and I had money stolen to cancel. Not to mention that a quarter of the equipment didn't work half the time.
I've worked out at this facility, S. Plainfield, E. Brunswick and Clark. There are pros and cons to all of them. The layout is the best at N. Brunswick and they have more machines for resistance training, mirrors and free weights. Clark especially does not have enough options outside of cardio equipment. The con is the overall cleanliness of this facility. Would be 5 stars if better maintained. The other facilities don't compare to everything this gym has to offer.
Probably the worst gym I've ever belong too. Dirty, broken equipment, when making money hands over fist. What a shame that owners just don't care.
Just wanted to let you all know that I used to work for LAfitness for 1.5 years. I know all the behind the scenes stuff. But really I'm here to let you know how to get out of a contract. If you can no longer workout do to "health concerns" and you GET A DOCTORS NOTE (very important) they have to cancel your membership. I would however check your contract just to be sure, since I have not been there in a few years.
In this large facility, you will have access to things most other gyms do not have. For example, LA Fitness and the UFC Gym are the only ones in the area that have a sauna. Here you get racquetball, basketball, free weights, cable machines, a host of other machines, as well as cardio equipment, spin classes, Zumba, a pool, and a heated tub. LA Fitness has personal trainers, but I don't know if they are any good. I've only had one approach me in the 2 years I have been going there, which I declined since I already have a workout regiment. There are also vending machines and a juice bar if you buy into that sort of thing.
These are all great aspects of a gym, however it is also important to have clean facilities and maintenance at the gym. The best thing LA Fitness could do, is get rid of the members that are ruining the gym. The men's locker room smells horrible and the locker doors are often broken or completely missing. While I know this is caused by some of the clients that go there, it affects the rest of the clients who want to have a decent locker room. Since security cameras are illegal in a locker room, a sign or two stating that defacing or intentionally breaking things will result in a ban from the gym, might improve the environment. Having staff walk through different areas could also serve as a deterrent.
There are some people who go there that are not hygienic, not considerate, and definitely ruin the place. I've seen one guy use the complimentary blow dryers to dry his socks. Other people place their sweaty shorts or underwear on the wooden enclosure for the heating source in the sauna. Some decide to spray Eucalyptus and menthol in the sauna, which makes the air disgusting to breathe.
The bathrooms and showers should be avoided. Whoever is ruining them should be given the option of either being banned from the gym with a monetary fine, or they spend a few hours cleaning up the biohazard they helped create.
