I really love this gym. The only thing that brought this rating down to 3 stars is I called the other day inquiring about a particular model of elliptical that I like that I use at this gym all the time, but since I won't be in this gym location for a while I wanted to be on the lookout for the model. The young woman who halfheartedly attempted to assist me was incredibly rude, not bothering to hide her disdain for my simple question and not bothering to take the one minute endeavor to check the model, just saying "It's Octane." Octane has many different elliptical models. She was rude and consciously unhelpful.
Great team. Sylvia very helpful in setting up membership. Enjoy instructors, always keeping close eye on guests for proper positioning so add not to harm oneself. Particularly the instructor Nicki - watchful and motivating!!
I truly love this gym.But the ventilation system in the pool area needs attention, rust on the pipes and mold growing in the walls. Today December 26 is not a holiday it's a workday weekday a lot of people sitting in the parking lot website said open doors were closed?
This place is almost always overcrowded but you can't blame anyone here for great marketing. However none of the weights ever get put back and I can't help but feel like the staff here promotes this kind of behavior because I never see anyone that works there on the floor making sure of this or picking up after their patrons. The facilities are nice however.
I've had a great experience at Fitness Connection Sparks. I had a personal trainer for 2 years and now I come in and workout on my own confident that I'm using the equipment correctly and efficiently. The variety of group classes they offer are great too.
Shady company, salesman didnt mention that I would be charged an annual fee of $40 when I signed up for the stupid membership.
Great variety of equipment and the trainers are very knowledgeable. Wait for the promotions for sign up they have some really good ones every once in a while.

About a month ago my bestie got a membership and started taking the pool classes. Short story is I am back at the gym and doing water classes. I take the morning pool classes and believe me you get a workout.
I love all the instructors as they have wonderful and upbeat personalities. I can't remember everyone's name. I know there is Mickey, Jenn, Holly, and Marie. These classes are always crowded and packed.
I also have a PT Personal Trainer Amanda and she is the bomb! She knows what you need and is so encouraging and friendly. I can't RAVE enough about Amanda. Believe me, she will make you workout and be glad you did. I want to take a moment to brag about her because she took the time to do some research on my autoimmune illnesses to make sure she was able to help me to the fullest. She is wonderful and I love it when I get to workout with her.

Best gym in Reno /Sparks. You get so much value for what you pay for.
People the crew is really good at least when I was there 2016 they always helped me out when I needed them. But it's true they need to tell people to stay on one machine not bounce to three machines and when they'er done leave all the weight on. They need to fix that. also they are really bad about keeping there equipment up when it's down it's down for a long time one time they had one machine down for four months that's sad. When I canceled they did make me pay two more months also made me pay my $40 new yearly contract because it happened to fall on the last month I was there total BS so instead of just paying $10 for the last moth I ended up paying $60 for the last two.
Overall terrible customer service. The staff does nothing to remedy issues when they come up. Will not enforce rules, won't clean up work out areas that are left a mess, no care to the constantly broken equipment. No replies to emails or phone calls to the gym. Front desk staff and "trainers" stand around chatting instead of walking the gym floor for general tidiness. The only benefit is the custodial staff that tries to keep the areas clean. I have been one of the first people to the gym on several occasions and come into a filthy locker room. No one cares at closing. Its overly busy as well at most times.
When you carry on average the lowest rating in the area between multiple review sources that tells the whole story. Cheaper is not always better and extremely misleading on charges and when you do cancel they work every angle to dip in your pockets those last few times Enough people have talked about this in other reviews to show the pattern and yes cancelling is tricky. Paying a little more somewhere else is well worth it

Lots of good classes, the staff is very nice and excellent at helping with any questions, there's a pool and great machines and free weights, and a personal trainer is only 55 bucks for a month! And a regular membership is only 10 bucks plus a 40 dollar annual fee, it'd be a deal at double that! I have had no negative experience there, even when I forget and leave my phone in the bathroom, it's always at post n found. The people and staff are all just really friendly and helpful. And the place is very clean! I always feel welcome and happy there, and motivated to push myself!

Can't beat the value this place offers members. Huge workout area with a large squat rack and free weight area, tons of cardio equipment, classes every day, a swimming pool, large locker and shower space, and complementary child care, all for 10/month plus an annual fee of 30. Well worth the price!
BEWARE: This company will charge you money after canceling your membership! Make sure you do it in writing and they fully understand you have canceled and you no longer owe them a dime! Otherwise you might get screwed if they can find a way!

I feel sorry of all the customers of Fitness Connection, Sparks including myself who felt mistreated and abused by this company. Their policies, The Manager and the Sales Representatives are the worst customer service I ever encounter in my whole life. Here is my bad experience from FC Sparks, Nevada.
It was September 2017 when I called the company to freeze my account due to medical condition. Everything works fine for couple of months. I came back February 4,2018, I signed up with a new subscription. When I came home. I realized that why do I need to pay for another subscriptions if I freezed my account back 2017. I called February 5, 2018 ( Monday) to make some changes of my account. They put me on hold for a longer period of time. They let me wait for 3 consecutive calls for the whole day. I was told to call back again at 8:00pm. ( I have the proof of phone call list from Sprint company ).. No one assisted me. February 6 or 7, 2018., I went to their location. I spoke to Nick" The Manager in Sparks ". I told him what had happened. He said that there's no way that I can get my refund. I can present a Doctor's Documentation. He said NO!!!!.I said OK! If you don't want to return my money then atleast use my subscriptions to my annual fees. He said NO again!!! I left with anger. I was mistreated.. February 8,2018. I called the corporations. I was told to present the call log lists showing that I am cancelling my subscriptions of the 3 days bracket periods of cancellation. I came back to the location again February 13,2018. I spoke to the Nicole ( The head Manager ) . I told her my experience. She called the Manager Nick and she even said to him that he should waive my subscriptions because of the medical reason. Nicole sent a note to FC corporations.. I waited weeks. I sent emails, calls no one responded me.. I have to address this matter to Business Complaint here in Nevada. This is not acceptable!!!!
The only reason why I came back of this company because of the Instructors. I have no idea that my experience of the gym became the worst nightmare!!!!
Don't let this company fool you around!!!
Sad how a company like this handles cancelations.
You should be able to email a cancelation. But they choose to use a form that you must fill out online, which did not process when I did fill it out. Twice.
I highly recommend you use another gym. Any gym but this one.

They suck and should go BK due to their customer service.
In the end they try and squeeze as many $$ out of you as possible by making it very difficult to cancel the agreement.

The pricing is good and the facility is nice, its just ran by a bunch of amateurs who could care less. One of the head managers who signed me up originally turns his nose up at me every time I walk in after signing up. Hey Fitness Connection tell your managers to stop acting like punks!!!!
We had a situation where we were trying to change out account and they wanted to charge me a new application fee for 4 of us and I have been with them for almost 3 years now, what a bunch of monkeys that are running this location. We currently pay the $19.99 a month for 2 accounts and wanted to lower it to 4 $9.99 accounts so my daughter could go in, and they are screwing with me. Absolutely no class or loyalty even after spending money there for years. After getting nowhere with the staff, the manager Brian refused to even come out and discuss anything with us, he is too good for that!!!! I am so sick of IDIOTIC behavior by corporations that don't care about the client and act however they want to!!!!
I have a lot of friends who work out here and that is the only reason I stay, about 90% of the staff is rude and extremely unprofessional. The weights are never where they belong and it stays very unorganized on a daily basis, I have even watched their own trainers and staff load the racks incorrectly.
BTW, dont bother with your canned response telling me how much you care but then dont do anything about it, just change your methods and clean the weights up. There are plenty of other gyms to join if not!
There are several gyms in the Reno Sparks area, but I decided to join FC, April 2017, because of the pool, so that my wife and I can do aqua aerobics at some point. The morning crew has continued to be friendly and helpful when needed. The bathrooms remain clean. Other than the number of people sometimes making it difficult to get to the machine or free weights I want to use, I do not have an issue with the number of people in this location. There always seems to be machines that are out of order, which becomes troublesome they often remain that way for days or from week to week. As of late the smell in the men's locker room has become over powering and needs to be taken care of.
The hours of operation are very nice for my work schedule, I do wish they had the option to have their classes spread out a bit more, but I understand that they need to appeal to the masses.
Overall, the place is a ok for coming in and getting through your workout. You may not get to your machine or weights right away, but some people are willing to allow you to work in with them.
The price is reasonable, if not lower than I have found in other areas. It includes daycare, pool, unlimited classes. I use the trainer program and find it to be amazing. My trainer, Amanda, is amazing. The facilities are clean. Some equipment is getting older, but they are replacing it. The pool has not been closed in the three months that I have been going here.
Pros:Gym is good as far as equipment is concerned. Lots of squat racks, benches and hammer strength machines. Price is good and they offer daycare.
Cons: The place is packed. Weights are unorganized. You have to hover around the piece of equipment or a trainer will take it. Opens way to late in the morning should consider opening at least a hour earlier to break up the morning rush. Doesn't seem really clean.
I just moved to the area and have been going here for a couple of weeks. Once I get settled I will be canceling as the crowds and late opening doesn't work well with what I have to do.
There are no racquetball courts!!! Whats going on? Many here who love that sport cannot find any sports centers that offer racquetball courts!! C'mon Fitness Connection!! Lets ad some space for racquetball!!!

I MOVED AND CANCELLED MY MEMBERSHIP WELL OVER 25 TIMES...IN PERSON, ON THE PHONE AND THROUGH E-MAIL. I LEAVE VMS AND NO ONE CALLS ME BACK. I AM GOING TO FORWARD THIS TO AN ATTORNEY. IT IS HARASSMENT.
I love this place ! It's great!!!! I go in the mornings, it's never packed. I get on any machine I want with no problem this place is fantastic
I generally like the gym but they need to get the pool fixed and they need to get the showers open again. They also need to be more transparent about what is going on with the pool. It has been how many months since the pool went dark? Then they say no showers and it will be back next year. When next year? I also don't appreciate the near con job the trainers gave me. I mean I used to body build - you need to train your people about integrity. On the plus, big gym great machines and free weights and good locker room and showers when open. Reasonable rates.

These machines are perfect for warm-up. They are also located right next to the basketball court, so you can shoot some hoops and get started on your warm-up or preworkout right as you step out of the basketball gym. These machines are perfect for a beginner, they will help bring the heart up before you decide to enter into picking up weights or dong cardio. Overall , I am really impressed by this gym. I love it!
