This is one of the best karate school... probably in Nevada. Instead of becoming a black belt in a month or two... It takes years and years of hard work. This school teaches karate as well as respect and care. They have classes from 4 year olds to adults. If you are looking for a karate school then this is the one.

My family and I love coming to karate, mostly because of the Youngs teaching style. We are so happy we chose this school. Highly recommended.

The Young Family are so good with the kids and teach them so well. They truly care about you and treat you like family. Our son really enjoys his karate classes. This is an excellent place for your kids to learn karate skills and good manners and social skills.

We have loved our experience at CD Young's Karate in Henderson. Master Young is wonderful. He is so good with the kids, the younger kids and the older ones. My son has learned so much! He has loved learning Karate, and I have loved watching the instructors teach respect, dedication and discipline. Master Young and the other instructors, are able to teach in kind and firm manner. When they need to correct the kids, either on skills or behavior, it's always done in an effective, kind way. If you are thinking of enrolling your child in karate, do it!! And enroll with CD Young!

There is a tremendous attention by the instructors to understand the students, working with them to grow individually in their Martial Arts skills while becoming responsible, confident, and disciplined young people. The school finds that character of the individual works hand in hand with the growth in skills as they rank advance on their journey to Black Belt.

This Karate business has provided us a wonderful experience for the past 5 years. A family truly dedicated to the growth of children with an emphasis on compassion, integrity and respect.
This is our experience... Our son has no siblings and was very shy, so we sought how to build confidence and eventually, leadership, as these are skills necessary to succeed in today's society. We chose Martial Arts after research and began interviewing businesses. I felt like Karatenv actually had laid expectations for us as well, and we were fortunate to enroll him. Fast forward to now... our friends often comment on how he makes eye contact, engages in conversation, and actively listens when being adressed. He has no problem walking away from trouble and has even given up friendships when a "follower" could have just assimilated and adopted the poor character he has confronted. Each instructor's resumė speaks for itself, as they are also involved to leadership programs for children outside of Karatenv. The Instructor's expectations are fully transparent and I have adopted some of them into my parenting style. I also feel they helped in the development of my son to the confident young man he has become. That said, this isn't for every kid. If your looking for a Black belt in two years, this isn't the place for you; however, if you want to see a smile on your child's face after each session you will. It is called PRIDE and it requires effort and hard work. For us, this started our as a fun place with building blocks of Karate techniques and fundamentals of discipline. Then, transitioned to building a character that carries compassion and respect for others. It's also nice to know that he will be able to defend himself confidently and quickly.

My children and I have been students of CD Young's Karate for 4 years now. Our 3 kids started when they were 4 years old in the Mini-Ninja classes, and we have been there ever since. As both a student and a parent of kids at the school, I have a unique perspective. The instructors are excellent with the little ones, even mine - who at 4 years old were not keen on the idea of leaving Mommy's side. They are always encouraging and positive. As the kids have gotten older, they have been held to an increasingly higher standard of expectation and accountability. I have seen my daughters become stronger, and more confident in themselves, and they have developed a greater level of discipline and focus that has benefited them beyond the martial arts as well. The owners have gone out of their way to establish a "family" atmosphere. There are multiple fun events and outings throughout the year that really make you feel part of a community. The free Wi-Fi in the lobby also makes waiting nicer for the parents.

As a student, I can attest to the benefits of the physical workout you get from every class. It is a robust curriculum, which includes self-defense techniques, sparring, ground-fighting (jujitsu), kata, one steps, drills, cardio and conditioning, basic techniques, and weapons. There are also regular tournaments where students can compete in sparring and kata divisions. This is a true school; all students earn their promotions through hard work, and they learn a great deal along the way. I trust them with my children, and could give no higher recommendation. They are the best martial arts school in Henderson, and I would recommend them without hesitation to anyone looking for a martial arts school.

I would like to give this business a -10 if that were possible. There are NO safe guards protecting your children in this place. People - especially parents - who are interested in martial arts and assume that there is any sort of vetting of instructors regarding credentials, licenses, and criminal background checking are fools. I would highly recommend you do your due diligence and stay away from this place and its owners(husband-wife)/instructors or be ready for a nice surprise from them.

I like CD Young's Professional Karate Center for many different reasons, but some of the main points that I think are important is that PKC is part of an internationally recognized lineage for Song Moo Kwan Tae Kwon Do, the attention to detail in classes as well as the dedication and passion that the instructors have for the students and the art.

When you first walk into the studio, the instructors are friendly and very approachable, and the students are very respectful as well. Not only are the classes held in such a positive and very welcoming environment, but the classes are fun and tailored for each age group to make sure that everyone is enjoying themselves while still learning the proper techniques. This tailoring allows people of all ages to feel welcome which I think is very important to helping a student progress.

Mr. Young and his Black Belts continue the Professional Karate Center tradition in Henderson. His abilities as a leader and a teacher are second to none. I have known and trained with C-D Young for 18 years and he is one of the very best and brightest Martial Arts instructors around.

You and your family will receive the very best in Self-Discipline, Self-Defense and character building. You'll also have a great time as part of the Professional Karate Center Family!

I am a 53 Year old woman. I began taking Karate classes at C-D Young's Professional Karate Center in September 2012. I started as a white belt, as everyone does. In the beginning I reasoned that Karate would be a good physical outlet for my well being. Before long I recognized so many more benefits to participating in Karate classes. I began to notice a growth in my self confidence, along with a wonderful sense of accomplishment, which then sparked a feeling of pride in my many acheivements. I began to have higher expectations for myself. I started to push myself towards goals (that before I would have thought unattainable) and as of Feb. 2, 2013 I earned my yellow belt. That is when I realized that Karate is much more than a physical work out. It is a joy to witness the level of respect that exists between the instructors and the students. At any age, young or old, I am a firm believer, as I have witnessed it over and over, that Karate teaches focus, it helps with raising self confidence and self esteem and it pushes one to reach goals through perserverence and dedication. Resulting in a deeper belief in oneself. And best of all it all happens in a fun atmosphere with instructors that are dedicated to show you how to achieve such self growth.

This is just what the doctor ordered! Literally, our son has ADHD and studies show that exercise is key to helping with the energy level. Karate was an added plus because the discipline required to master the katas helps with focusing. Mr. and Mrs. Young. their family and extended karate family are always helpful and succeed in making their dojo welcoming. I love how they focus on the family by allowing parents to have a date nights, family day in the park and other extra curricular activities. It's awesome!!
