Although I utilize several branches of the Lincoln YMCA network, the Downtown YMCA has its own culture, one that still fully supports the core values of the YMCA, but focuses on the frequent members of this branch who often are business professionals, collegiate students, and even visitors staying in nearby hotels. Constant attention is paid on evolving programs that specifically cater to this unique member base, while also providing a great community for those utilizing the facility. A recent interior refresh has worked to improve facility conditions for both members & instructors/staff.
I'm been a member of the downtown YMCA for over 20 years. The facility is in the heart of downtown Lincoln has recently been updated and offers many free Group Exercise Classes that are included with the cost of your membership. The YMCA is not just a place to workout as they also support our local community through the Strong Kids program.
A great place to workout and be apart of an inviting community in Lincoln! The community at the Downtown YMCA has been built by the members and staff, making all people who walk in the door feel welcome and like they belong there! The pool temperature is always perfect for lap swimming and I love the indoor track!
This place is great! I work downtown and can hop over during my lunch break, as does half of my work place. Their employees are spectacular and the variety of classes offered is wonderful. Definitely recommend joining this gym.
Great location for inner city. By the time you park, several reps could be done . A lot of people sit on weights & wastes time, like other work out facilities now.... They text & have no idea of how to let persons "work in" w/them. The Y is for brotherly/sisterly - hood. If it weren't for people like Rhonda, Barb, and Troy's philosophy on helping others, the X concept is lost. We need to build just like the growing downtown (it's a city now!)

Recovering from surgery so I can't use pool. Love the steam room & staff. This Y seems neglected compared to others, but weight room & cardio machines work if exercise is your goal.

If you go early in the morning, then parking is free. Otherwise, it costs during the week unless you live or work downtown. The staff are consistent and friendly.

Nice equipment...and pool.
The location is awesome if you work and live downtown - it's convenient that way. But, the machines aren't cleaned as often as they should be and feels cramped. Staff was friendly!
I love the crowd at the downtown Y and the people watching is best.
