Only negative is cleanliness of showers. Black mold on floor and walls .

This place gets the occasional bat inside. That's fine, it's an old building and they normally get the bat out pretty quickly. This week a bat got into the building on Monday morning and the old man at the front desk did nothing about it. The bat was still there come Tuesday afternoon. The old man at the front desk said he called 'maintenance' about it. Really? For a bat you call animal control. They can transmit disease. Also, why did no one else who worked that day call animal control? Is everyone at this location incompetent? Just be aware, if you go here you may get a side of rabies with your workout.

Avoid in the summer time. Every year for the past several years the A/C stops working and it gets to be over 80 degress when you're trying to work out. You can't work out early morning or late at night either to avoid it. It stays hot all the time. They don't really seem to care about fixing it either.

I am from Los Angeles California and I work for Revolt Television. I am trying to stay fit while in Kansas City. I went to fill out an application and the black woman who took my information acted like she didn't want me there. She said she would pass my application to the manager. I never heard from her. I called back to discover she had stolen my information and never turned it in to management. I will definitely talk about this on live TV. I will never use the YMCA.

Quality Hill YMCA is awesome. If your expecting a one life type of pampering go find a sauna and steam room elsewhere. Otherwise they have great equipment both upstairs and downstairs, locker rooms, basketball court, pool at the marriot hotel, and the staff is great! Price is also great compared to $65/month at one life. Also, the staff is great and get to know you very well.

Great downtown gym. There are always open machines which mean you never have to wait. Friendly Staff as well. Small Basketball Court and but plenty of classes to choose from. With my membership I am able to use any YMCA in Kansas City which I take advantage of.

Very convenient location and great price for being in downtown KC! They have a space that is always available for me to use with plenty of equipment to choose from.

"Mind body and spirit" is their thing, and I really do get all of that from the Y and particularly the Quality Hill Y. Been a Y member since a kid up in MN and no matter where I go they are always great. That keeps me going, especially when times are tough. But Buddy and the rest of the staff at QH REALLY go out of their way to be helpful and support my my efforts, and with mind body and spirit at stake nothing could be more important! Thx guys, thx Y!

Had the same experience with cancellation as several others. The gym is small and the basketball court is kind of a joke, but for the most part it was an ok place to work. Things changed when I tried to cancel because my new employer has a gym on site. They told me several times I would not be billed for the next month, after already eating the cancellation fee. Not the case. Another major issue I had with them was what happened after I suffered an injury in June 2015. My wife asked on two separate occasions, different employees each time, if I could put my membership on hold immediately following my injury and was told they could not do that both times. However, when I called to cancel in December 2015, in what appeared to be an attempt to keep me as a customer, they offered to put my membership on hold. I called them out on this sudden change in policy and basically was met with a blank stare. The employees seem nice enough, I just think they're training and policies is highly inadequate. Don't waste your time or money with these jokers.
