This gym has really been going down hill in the past six months or so and I don't not see it improving anytime soon. I have been a member here since they opened. I live in the Downtown St. Paul area, and I work out 4-5 days a week, so one of the ONLY reasons that keeps me here is the convenience, and the only other options are the YMCA in the area which is worse(I was a member there too for awhile), and an Anytime Fitness which isn't much better than a hotel gym. I think one of the main factors is the change in management. The current manager's name is Sarah. I have no problem dropping names because I know they don't read and or care about customer satisfaction. Just to be clear, I am not a difficult person to please, I just appreciate the same professionalism giving to me that is expected of me at my place of employment. I know it may not be her "dream job", but you can definitely tell that this Sarah really could care less about any member or gym issues. I was charged double for my membership in a month, and after multiple calls and being told "Yeah, yeah, it's being taken care of", I have yet to see a refund. Then there are some of the staff that work at the desk. 99% of the time they don't even acknowledge you because they are too busy with their feet kicked up on the desk looking down at their phones. It's really unfortunate because the staff used to be great. Then there is the issue of the equipment. The equipment wasn't the best when the gym first opened, and now after some years the bargain basement junk is getting even worse, partly because it's some of the cheapest equipment made and also from years of wear and tear and people who bang it up because they don't know how to use is correctly. All of the bench press stations are lop-sided, and something that should be as easy as taking it apart and putting back together again the right way I guess is too difficult for them to do. So it's very obvious they don't care about the quality of the equipment. I think they care more about people joining their "Fusion"(Cross-s##t basically) classes then anything else. Then the icing on the proverbial cake is the fact they charge about 100 bucks per month for a standard gym membership, which the price was raised about a year ago, and interestingly enough the "executive" membership wasn't touched. So all in all, the gym isn't the most horrible place I've worked out at. It has the potential to be a great gym, but it's obvious the owners don't care and they have no interest in putting any money into it. If you are a "weekend warrior" or a "casual", then this place will probably be your dream come true, but if you are serious about working out and want to feel like you are actually getting your money's worth at the same time, then I highly suggest going elsewhere, as I am working on doing presently.
