Awesome locally owned and managed club. Consistently updated, cleaned and maintained by the friendly staff, owners and managers who are onsite often. Incredible views from the treadmills of the Mississippi River. Easy to get on equipment and squat racks. They offer group training promos to help achieve goals and keep you on track. Parking is a breeze and it's always nice to grab a coffee next door after a workout!
Convenient to where I live. Minimal amount of equipment. Removing the equipment I use, during the recent "update," didn't help. Need the calf machine back.
Would very much like to see some signs up concerning cell phone use. There are members who come here to workout their thumbs on their phones or carry on loud conversations. If people need to use their phones, they should do so in the lounge area. Ten minute on the text message and 30 seconds on a set is wasting equipment time. Specially when others are there and need that equipment.
It's a nice gym in a great location (you can jog along the river if it's not flooded) but it's not 24 hours like they are supposed to be. I love that there's a reasonably priced electric car charger in the lot! It's very convenient!
Amazing facilities, great staff and other members are very friendly.
If you need to do some cardio and want a great view, this is your place.
Friendly staff, clean gym, lots of equipment, reasonable pricing, and the convenience of a 24 hour gym - definitely recommend
Cleanliness is a top priority here, love it!!

My favorite gym in St. Paul.
This gym has one of the coolest views of any gyms I've been in. It's located downtown right off the river. I can run to the gym for my warm up, get my workout in and walk home. The gym is always clean and the staff does a good job of adding equipment from time to time to keep things interesting. My favorite is the new purple turf for Plyo or stretching.

Tred mills, stair climber, bikes, elipticals for cardio. The rest of the place is mostly weight lifting equipment, very small area in the back for stretching and floor exercising.
Not sure if I was just there at a bad time but there was no one using the floor area while I was getting my heart rate up on the tred mill, when I went over there to streach it happened to be the exact moment a staff member decided the area needed to be vacuumed... directly around me. Maybe they vaccum every day at 4:38pm...

Good variety of equipment. Nice bathrooms with showers. I'm not a fan of tanning but the rooms also work as changing rooms.

Very clean gym with more than enough weightlifting and cardio equipment, and with the new ownership they have made some nice improvements. Love the scenic location next to the river and near downtown St Paul. Only caveat is they close at 10PM due to issues with noise complaints from the condo owners above the gym.

Not 24 hours!! Because there are people living upstairs this gym closes at 10pm like LA fitness
Good equipment and decent staff. Usually really clean. Disappointed that it closes at 10pm.. More like a "SOMETIMES" fitness. Watch out in January - March. There seems to be an influx of new years resolution people who flood the gym en mass around that time. They all go away around April.
Serious lifter beware. This gym may be fine for casual gym goers but they are missing some essential equipment. During the one day I went I was doing upper body and they had no dip belts (the lady didn't even know what this was), no dedicated bench for bench press and only one squat rack. What this meant for me is that I had to set up a makeshift bench in the squat rack and only after waiting until it was unoccupied for quite a bit.
On the plus side the facility was cleaned and well maintained, the lady was very kind and seemed to care about everyone in the facility and parking was no issue. There is a railroad track that runs right in front of it which may cause issues getting there.
I have been to three types of Anytime Fitness Clubs: dumps with broken equipment (East side of St Paul and Grand Avenue), corporate clubs (Maplewood and Inver Grove Heights) and Spring Street.
Some people who were looking for a different kind of club have expressed that this is not the place for them. I am so happy there are a lot of choices for us, even among Anytime locations. I do not plan on leaving a negative review for the corporate clubs. They are simply not my taste. I expressed my concerns to the team at the East Side location, but they disputed my opinion. No need to leave a review there. They will drive away customers all by themselves. As for Grand Avenue, well, they had a broken treadmill with no sign on it and no way to tell them. I don't like that location. I don't think a negative review will change anything.
I am not a serious weight lifter. I do not drop or slam weights and am not interested in being around anyone who does. I want basic equipment to work. I am very pleased with the selection at Spring Street.
I do not like the flashy atmosphere of the corporate clubs. Yes, it was fun to use a bike with a video about biking in France. I did not like the loud music and TV that took up storage space. Nothing wrong with the corporate clubs, but they are not my taste.
I adore my little club on Spring Street. The music is a reasonable level. I can listen to my own music and not hear the club's. I love that there is a coat rack at the front door. Minnesota winters mean some serious outerwear, and I had a hard time stuffing it all in at the corporate location.
I love the atmosphere at Spring Street. I am always warmly greeted during staffed hours. I love the variety of people who come to work out there. One great draw, I think, is Jacek, a personal trainer. The club feels better when he is there. There is a really nice camaraderie among Jacek's clients and I think this spreads into other visitors.
If you are not happy at your current club, I encourage you to come visit Spring Street. For me, it is the Goldilocks club.
My least favorite Anytime in the area. Getting to or from the gym is not without difficulty with all the detours and u-turns, parking is near impossible some days, and they are not 24 hours, which is what I needed, otherwise, I would have gone to any of the other more reasonably priced gyms in the area. It is also very small and very busy.
What I do like: nice view of the river makes cardio less boring.
In all fairness, I knew about the hours when I signed up. I didn't think it would matter much because I have the ability to visit any of the other gyms in the area. As it turns out, it really does matter. A lot.
