This gym is incredibly overpriced. The staff was rude and condescending on my last visit. Sauna is more of a warm room...will be taking my business elsewhere
Nice gym with a great selection of equipment. However maintenance and repair of equipment is not done in a timely manner, and the overall cleanliness (especially the men's locker room smell!!!) Could be greatly improved
This place has everything. I mean every piece of equipment that I know a gym to have or need!
Moved here about a 8 months ago, been CRAWLING around the twin cities trying to find some solid/consistent basketball runs. 8 months later, I have found the place! M-F around 5 they usually have runs, most of the time quality competition as well.
Machines/weights/locker room and all that are great, especially considering the very affordable membership pricing. DJ and Malcom have been great.
Highly suggest this place for anyone trying to find some good runs.
Why do I have to keep asking, for management to turn up the temp. For the jacuzzi? (Its almost chilly). Why are shower curtains non-existent., L.A. has curtains And replacement of paper towels in the workout areas and restroom is mediocre? Really, LifeTime was better!
Brian Dooley goes above and beyond for his clients. Great atmosphere and location with fun events once in awhile where multiple vendors come in and give out free samples. Highly recommend this place!
Cheap place that is often not as clean as it should be. If they offer to give you a training session be weary that they never actually train you, they just want you to sign up for training sessions and pay for it but never actually train you, ever. They used to have a swimsuit spinner that would to help keep your suit dry after you swim, but then they got rid of it. That sucked. The aquafit class plays nothing but Michael Jackson music and it's the same class and has been the same thing over and over again for the last six or seven years. And they can't keep yoga teachers.
Overall, this LA fitness is a solid choice for a workout. The steroid warning in the bathrooms makes you wonder how hardcore it may get out on the weight floor, but nothing seems to get out of hand. The one thing to note, more maintenance needs to be done in keeping the bathrooms clean, and well stocked.

Half of the lockers have been broken into. The cheap particle board shatters easily, so locks are practically useless.
People kept destroying the shower curtains, so now they don't have any.
The sauna constantly smells strongly of Vicks vapor rub because people spray some weird stuff on the heater.

Jay is trying to say my 12mo contract isn't valid cuz "the price changed" So now they want to charge me over twice what I paid before and also lock me into another 6mo. F*ing liars, I have the contract right here. Now I can't afford to continue with my trainer Ausby. He was awesome. What a shame.
On top of that, my locker has been broken into twice now and a bunch of my stuff stolen (first my bag, then my jeans and belt). Just do yourself a favor and avoid this location

It's a great place to come and blow off steam. All the equipment is in good working condition. The have great employees and good trainers if that's what you would like.

This gym is dirty and poorly operated. The weights are old, rusty and laying all over. Chalk dust everywhere. Missing dumbbells...paper towels on the floor. The majority of the clientele are pigs. I hate having to lift at this location.
This place has become disgusting, I would normally give most LA a 4 of 5 however the last time i was in this one even the shower curtains had been
removed. and nothing has been cleaned. this is unacceptable I've been going here for 2 years and watching it just get worse and worse. this gym needs new management or their current needs to have a massive improvement plan. I really like all your other locations, but this is the closets one to my house and if it continues to look like this I will not be renewing.
Good location and staff is friendly but the place is filthy. The bathrooms are especially dirty but everything is gross. Multiple machines are often out of service and the equipment is outdated.
I'm really glad I signed up at LA Fitness, its inexpensive (just ask to waive the BS initiation fee). Everything you need is there. Weights, cardio, exercise room, basketball court, pool, lockers, etc. It beats every other gym.
I see a lot of bad reviews because of cleanliness. Yeah it's not great on some days but if you can't stand it that there's no paper towels or trash on the floor then go pay more at another gym. Who cares, you're there to workout where everyone else is sweating too.
Always able to use the equipment that i want. Men's locker room is NO LONGER carpeted. It is regularly cleaned and does not smell. Plenty of parking and room to do your thing. Staff mind their own business but are helpful when needed. I have never been pressured into paying for things i don't want or need.
I primarily use the LA Fitness in Uptown, Mpls for its convenience. The facility is too small for the amount of traffic it sees, so good luck using the cardio equipment without a wait. Not to mention how often equipment is scheduled for service due to overuse. The staff has a high turnover so I would not recommend signing up for a trainer if you rely on accountability and consistency.
It's a gym. Nothing terrible, nothing special. Don't go just before or after work hours and it's fine.
If you go just before it just after standard work hours, the place is a zoo. But at other times it's easy enough to get any equipment you need.
Employees are incredibly disrespectful. Guest passes for friends are a pain for everyone involved. The gym is a gym and its not so bad. Idk how they hire or pay these employees but its pathetic and they make the gym look like junk before you even get to work out. Also you shouldnt have to schedule an appointment to come workout as a guest i mean come on thats ridiculous.
I'll use the gym because it's close and affordable, but I can't give them a good review at this point. The staff has been rude already on a few occasions and I'm a new member. The gym area seems fine and the ladies locker room is clean.
The club is just run by a bunch of guys who care about only convincing you to buy a membership, they never explain the details well and all they care is you pulling out your credit card to pay, just a bunch of greedy sales people. Good luck also trying to cancel a membership as they will always charge you stupid hidden fees that they never tell you about before presenting you their stupid contracts. The bathrooms are not clean and smelly.......... no customer care too amd as yoh can see, no one even bothers to reply any customer reviews, pathetic place.
ANTS! Ants in the locker rooms. I told management and they seemed not to care. Crowded and smelly, but the price is right for a place to lift weights or use a machine on occasion. They would do well to reallocate some of the money they spend on pushy salesmen and hire more people to clean or pay the cleaning staff better.
This is a place of no judgment.. I enjoy the staff as they very friendly. They even help assist you in workouts if needed
The gym is overall fairly well maintained; some of the lockers are broken, most of them are somewhat dirty from people putting snow/salt covered shoes in there, the floors in the locker rooms and pool area are sometimes a bit behind on cleaning, but, again, it's overall fairly clean otherwise.
Overall, the staff seems fairly friendly and professional. I've never had or seen issues with anything disappearing but it is a city location, so you should generally lock your valuables away anyway.
This gym is very clean and the staff is nice. During peak hours it's sometimes hard to find a spot to sit down in the locker room, but everything else about this place is super great and I like being a member.
It's a decent gym, you get what you pay for. However read your agreement because I've been overcharged a few times. The locker rooms aren't terrible I can take it because I've dealt with hockey locker rooms for many years but the men's locker room smells pretty bad. Also the basketball court usually has a full court game being played on it so I can't just shoot around which is annoying. The hot tub also has some nasty stuff floating around sometimes.
Absolutely ridiculous that some of these posts are up here. The gym is clean as all the pool and hot tub are great the sauna and showers and locker rooms are nice as well. I never have to wait for a bench or machine and the classes are very challenging. Staff is great and Kam is awesome for personal training. I fear that some of these poor ratings are because people are upset that this gym allows all types of people to workout here. It is great for a gym. If you need all of your needs catered 24/7 like a child then go to lifetime and spend the 200 dollars a month there. This place is great and i am here at least once every day.
Love coming to this gym. Linda's water aerobics class is AMAZING as well as the Kickboxing class. I believe that teachers name is Staci? Can't remember. But I enjoy this gym. Nice and clean.
This is a very bad location. I have been to many la fitness location before, but this one is the worst gym. The smell is bad when you walk in. The manager of this location is so racist. If you were white, you are ok. He thinks he is superior than other ethnicities. Your attitude is not good enough to work in that environment at all. We need someone who is friendly and warm to all different ethnicities.
Stairmasters need to be replaced! I was on one the other day and it sounded like it was going to fall apart. Also don't deal with the trainers here, I had a fitness assessment and I actually walked out. I don't want to be yelled at the entire time i'm working out. Not a good way to sell training sessions. Especially when I kept telling them that I already have a trainer that I had been working with. If I could have gotten spin classes at my old gym I would have gladly stayed there. Also was told "at least now you're coming to a real gym" when I told them where I had been going.
