I highly recommend this studio to anyone considering trying Pilates for the first time or if you're looking for a new studio to join! I have worked with multiple trainers at the Pilates House and have had a wonderful experience with each (Maggie, Paige, Lynn, Tabitha and Stephanie). The studio is always incredibly clean and the environment created by trainers is supportive and fun.
My Background-
When I first went to the Pilates House back in 2010, I was a high school student with multiple injuries from Tennis and other physical activities. I knew I needed to build strength to avoiding worsening current injuries or adding any new ones. I am hyper-mobile (flexible connective tissue) and had struggled to be successful with regular physical therapy at various times in my life. None of the therapists I had previously worked with were familiar with EDS or hyper-mobility. We struggled together to find ways to isolate the areas we were trying to strengthen with traditional P.T. exercises. We were not successful in creating a plan for me that didn't cause things to pop or create intense pain.
My Experience-
Training at the Pilates House was the first thing to really work for me. The machines and equipment available at the Pilates House really enable you to isolate certain areas, or muscles, in order to strengthen or practice different (and better!) alignment. In addition to the equipment, the trainers' knowledge, passion and excellent communication skills quickly turned me into a weekly client. I finally felt like I could work on strengthening specific muscles and creating smoother, more supported movements.
I've never felt more comfortable in a training environment than I do at this studio. I believe a large part of this is due to the fantastic trainers. The trainers share their personal knowledge or experience with you so you can continue to practice outside of the studio. They're also are fun and passionate about their clients. Small class sizes and private sessions allow for an extremely personalized training experience.
I've continued to train at this studio for more than 6 years. Now, I am much stronger and less injured! I am very grateful to the trainers I have worked with for helping me throughout this process.
