I am so grateful for yoga sol and all of their wonderful instructors. They adjusted so well to everything that's been going on by offering virtual classes, and they always make me feel so welcome and comfortable in the space. I am typically reluctant to attend public classes, but after a first sculpt class with Rita last year, I was hooked! There is no judgement within the space, and as a donation based studio, it is very affordable. :)

I've been attending classes off and on since they opened 8 years ago and it's my favorite yoga studio! Great location, calming atmosphere, and every instructor I've met is welcoming and offers adjustments for your level. I recommend Yoga Sol to anyone - the donation/ pay what you can model is so helpful- and check out their live streaming classes as well!

I've been a huge Yoga Sol fan for about seven months. The studio is lovely and clean and the instructors are all wonderful and helpful. I really appreciate its mission of making yoga accessible to all. The Zoom classes have been a great way to get through lockdown without giving up physical activity -- I highly recommend joining a flow or sculpt class if you're in need of movement and connection while at home.

Yoga Sol is such a safe and accessible place for anyone interested in yoga. The instructors are so kind and welcoming. The range of classes from restorative yoga to a high-intensity yoga sculpt provide a great variety. Some yoga studios can be intimidating, but this one truly isn't. Come as you are, no matter you're level, and you'll be accepted and respected here.

The pay-what-you-can style is so great for anyone who can't afford or commit to a membership most studios require. Yoga Sol has also done a GREAT job throughout COVID-19, maintaining a sense of community and providing Zoom classes to keep us all connected, flowing and in shape. So thankful for this place!

I had an amazing experience at the Friday night Candlelight Flow! The space is very intimate and relaxing. Our instructor, Amanda, was very encouraging, sociable, and exuded a lot of positive energy in the room. The candles were a nice touch as well. All in all, one of the best yoga experiences I have had. I definitely recommend it, and hope to go back soon!

This is one of my favorite studios in Minneapolis! As a recent graduate, I really appreciate the pay-what-you-can mentality. Many new students to yoga can get intimidated by the steep costs of starting a membership at a studio, but this helps to encourage newcomers to the community! Candlelight Flow is one of my favorites and offers an incredible finish to a day, or start to a week.

Yoga Sol has been my yoga home for the past 3 years now. I still have yet to find a studio that matches the level of compassion, community, and over-all good vibes that Yoga Sol provides. Drop-in classes allow me to create my own schedule without having to worry about making a monthly membership fee worth it.

I enjoy coming here for yoga classes, they are usually exactly what my body needs to de-stress. The space is beautiful & quaint. I am living on a very tight budget & currently not working so the "pay what you can" concept seemed perfect for my situation. But, after going to a handful of classes I have noticed how uncomfortable the teachers makes me feel when I can't hand over more than 2$ for a donation. It completely defeats the purpose of the "pay what you can" concept if students who want to go to classes feel uncomfortable/judged/unsafe by litterally paying what they can. I understand that the teachers want to make money (at a nonprofit that gets plenty of donations and state/county funding), but not at the cost of making students feel less than or like they shouldn't be there in the first place. If Yoga Sol is a donation/pay what you can studio, then the students should have no negative feelings about donating way below the "suggested".

I've been going to Yoga Sol for over a year now and I find it to be inconsistent.

Some instructors definitely know what they are doing. They help with poses, give positive feedback, and include mindfulness into their classes. A couple of instructors seem ill-prepared for class or unwilling to help students. The chakra series in January was frustrating. I asked for help in-class. The instructor just said, "try harder" and walked away.

Another major issue I've experienced is instructors subbing for others, which happens fairly frequently. It seems there isn't a good internal system in place to make sure the class will follow the same pacing and focus. For example, the Candlelight Flow & Yin class I went to tonight was taught by a substitute who treated the class like vinyasa with some yin at the end.

I love that there is a community feel here. This place is great for beginners and people who have been practicing a long time. I love that they are making yoga accessible with a pay what you can class model. Their sculpt classes are energetic and a good challenge.

Love this place. It is a pay as you go studio, so you are not stuck with an expensive monthly membership if you end up not going very often. The classes are great and so are the instructors. They remember your name and are always pleasant. The studio is relaxing and clean.
