If you want to do Iyengar yoga this would be a great place to start. I take classes with Joy Laine and find her to be a sensitive and adept instructor. There are all the props one would expect to find when doing the Iyengar method including a rope wall, bolsters, matts, etc. The studio changed hands in 2019 and now offers more classes than before.
Absolutely the tops! The instructors at this studio are authentic and dedicated to the practice of yoga. Couldn't ask for better, more detailed and safe instruction. Lee teaches with a fun sense of humor and a rich philosphy, and Kristin teaches with precision and grace. This isn't your cookie-cutter yoga class, you get hands-on, real-time feedback. In a word: amazing.

I called in to join and was basically told they don't accept anyone. The jerk that works there is narrow minded so don't let him get in the way of your yoga experience.
I have practiced Iyengar specifically for a long time now in San Francisco, excited to get more details about the studio, I have called and left a message numerous times and have not gotten and call back. What a shame for lost of business. It is very sad.
The vibe here is dour, overbearing and pretentious. I've studied with top Iyengar instructors in New York, Minneapolis and India and have never experienced this kind of negativity.
Specifically, I would avoid the male teacher here. He seems to suffer from a personality disorder.
What a shame, and what a waste.
