So far i like the place, especially stretch cage and dedicated training room!
New owner the equipment is maintained an all working at the time of this review. New owner seems nice an wish him the best. Smaller gym but has everything you need for a good workout and you can go anytime you want.
New owners took over a few weeks ago. They keep it much cleaner than it was. New and different machines are replacing the older ones. More yet to come. Looking forward to more improvements. Had to increase from 3 to 4 stars.

Tanning beds don't work.
Horrible gym. The gym is dirty and never cleaned properly. The equipment is run down and the machines that are broken are never fixed.
The owner (Justin) lacks proper business ownership skills and lacks knowledge of the business and common knowledge overall. He lies to get people in the door and is very unprofessional.
The staff are young kids who have zero experience in customer service and one young man has a horrible attitude. Owner and staff seem very uneducated.
If you are choosing Anytime Fitness, I reccomend the Washington Twp location or any location other than this one.

I was at the Troy gym (which i loved and the people are really cool) then i moved and had to go to this one....Lets just say it sucks. Its like day and night from Troy to Shelby. The guys there other than a younger guy are assholes. It feels so uninviting as well as having older equipment and its much smaller. I went in a few times and saw the office door closed with the lights off and the guy just sitting there on the computer. If you want to go to Anytime fitness go to the Troy one or don't give any other location money. Not worth my time ill go to Planet or L.A.
This location has pretty much everything you need for a person looking to get fit. If you're looking for cardio, there's plenty of machines for it even at peak hours (6 or so treadmills, several ellipticals, couple stairclimbers). Weightlifters there are enough benches and free weights to do just about everything you need. Plus plenty of machines. They also host a variety of classes throughout the week. Great gym overall and staff is helpful when needed.

Great gym, I have a lifetime membership but I still choose to come here often. Justin, the owner, is more than friendly and the facility has everything I need.

They removed the recurring sign up for classes w/o notifications to customer & I received no email when a class is canceled. Instructor thought no one can make it to class & she cancels classes.
