I really enjoyed working out here. I felt that the facility was always very clean, front desk staff was super friendly, the pool was in great condition, and all the machines met my needs. The only complaint I would have is that there was a huge amount of pressure to buy a membership from one of the workers before I was even halfway done with my guest pass. I ended up feeling glad I worked out there but did not appreciate feeling so rushed and forced into the decision making process. Unfortunately, I do not live in the metro Detroit area anymore and there are no LA Fitness centers near me.... in general they are a very good fit for me with the cardio machines, strength training equipment, and pool all in one place. Hardly any other gym offers a swimming pool and I miss it!!
Great staff.... thoughtful, professional, and focused on one's exercise regimen and needs, from diet to specific muscle and body exercises. Matthew E. was especially good, and thorough, and upbeat. Physical trainer Brian is... low- key, outwardly, but disciplined, effective, great. I hadn't planned on investing in a full training program, but they convinced me, professionally. I'd recommend Matt and the team there to any and all.
The gym is excellently staffed. They just upgraded last year. They also are always having classes which is great for many, but sometimes problematic when I am trying to use the pool to get a few laps in.
I've been coming here for 7 years. They just did some remodeling and it looks awesome, but there definitely needs to be more upkeep at this facility. Bathroom and showers are usually pretty dirty, sauna always stinks. 3 stars
LA Fitness Livonia is close and conveniently located near my place of work. I visit here often and enjoy the people, the staff and the facilities.

The gym is very "hood" and they DO NOT care about their members. They just opened a 2nd gym in livonia, please do not let this happen to that one corporate

I dont even want to give this place one star. This gym lied to me and my adjuster. They said that i would be able to bill my adjuster for a personal trainer. Then when i gave them the check for the membership they went back on their word. I do not know how to properly exercise. They took money from what i needed and now my adjuster will not let me try to find another gym to go to that i could have a personal trainer. This place sucks. Terrible services.

Planet Fitness is a great place to join. Black card membership $22 a month. They have HydroMassage beds that are great. Tanning beds are awesome. In a very friendly staff at the one on Wayne in Warren in Westland.

The Livonia location off Plymouth rd seems to struggle in keeping the facility clean and the machines up and running. The weights are always all over three place, even when they first open in the morning. Today no-one even bothered to show up for work. My husband and I waited 20 minutes for them to open. Eventually we just left. Very disappointed.
I love the gym but the men locker room and bathrooms are very dirty. It's never clean!
Many of the machines are either broken for months at a time or are missing pins. They never clean the main floor, machines, or locker rooms. Theres always trash overflowing and all over the floor. I know gyms arent the cleanest, but come on. Its ridiculous. I barely even go to this location anymore..
Sauna is hot & adjustable. Staff is pleasant. & there's a fantastic lady there every morning who does a cleaning second to none. The clients mess up but she does the job

Dirty place and workrs in custmer service are rude yaskika she has alot attitude never i will go back to this place again i. Transfer to other Gym i love it . i hop every body go to good place not this location theres other Gym better than AL
The pool has been closed for over three months and that's the main reason I transferred from another gym. There's a different excuse every time I go in and no precise time on when it will re-open.
I have been coming to this location for about 10 months. Its not the cleanest but thats due to members. I see a woman cleaning constantly every morning. My only complaint is the hot tub was closed for over 3 months & opened for less than a week & was closed down. Southfield is closer but it has bugs & I never saw anyone cleaning. I was considering up grading my membership. Now Im reconsidering. I'll continue monthly to see if things get better

Mar 2018 -- No paper towel holder in bathroom and empty upstairs. Housekeeping needs improvemebt
Not enough smaller hand hand weights.. only 5 and 10 lb on the floor. The others are locked up in the exercise room sobi can't get my usual arms work out. Also kind of dirty. Did see a guy washing down equipment but the water in the bucket was black. Updated to 3 star... came back a couple months later and there are hand weights out! Thx LA Fitness for addressing
I've been a member for a few months .. I keep waiting for it to get clean ... It's absolutely the most disgusting gym I've ever worked out in .. tonight there was no paper towels in the whole gym to dry hands or wipe machines down when done .
Every garbage can in the place was over flowing with garbage and the bathrooms had piss flowing from every stall . I went out to tell the 3 employees sitting behind the counter all texting or looking at social media and only one raised their head and shrugged when I told him about the paper towels .
I just want my sign up fee back so I can go anywhere else .
Bunch of scammers!!! The staff are so rude and the gym is gross and nasty. On top of that, the lockers don't have locks
Worst LA I have been too, hands down. Not only do employees not seem to care but the general populous of the gym has no respect. The big guys are the worst offenders a lot of the time. That's just obnoxious, if you want to lift it, part of the lift is putting it away. Can't wait to end my membership.
Cables are down more often than not. Machines feel like they are hardly maintained. Disorganized, chaotic, mess. Your choice. I'd avoid this LA if I could.
Edit: Trying to cancel my membership is a challenge in itself. You can only do it by coming in from 9-5 mon-fri or a "mail in" option. Are you serious??? Take time off of work to cancel, or hope that it doesnt get lost in the mail and charge an extra few months for a couple hundred dollars. Hmmmm seems legit!
They have a really nice sauna here. This is a busier location than some of the other ones in the area. That being said, every time that I go here it looks pretty clean.
I have been a member since I was transitioned from Bally's Total Fitness. I have been a member for a long time. The gym is not as clean as it use to be when it first opened. I will say that sometimes it is annoying when there is broken equipment scattered throughout the gym. For the money that we pay this should never be a continuous problem. On the upside, I am glad to see that they have replaced many of the equipment that was constantly breaking with brand new ones. When it comes to the staff members, we must keep in mind that this is just a job for many of them. They are not necessarily compassionate about helping you at random unless they are getting paid to train you. Many of them look like they need trainers themselves. There is always a constant turnover with the staff, no consistency at all. They are more focused about signing up people for membership than picking up weights and returning things to where they belong (blame corporate for this). Overall, it is close to where I work so I will continue to go here unless it becomes extremely bad.

Very nice place..staff also are nice.. been a member a few months. Love the aerobic classes...
Monday, Wednesday and Friday daycare lady is amazing! Gym is nice! Need longer daycare hours. Some staff goes above and beyond while the others shouldn't be working there.
