This gym is perfect for serious lifters. Has the old school look and the atmosphere is very inviting and open. Staff is friendly and helpful and so are the other members.
The gym is also large and has great equipment and multiple of the same machines so there's hardly any wait time to use what you want.
Highly recommended. Price is perfect as well.

this is the worst place I had ever been to. I think they have ancient tanning beds. I had to ask how to turn it on there is no stop or start or anything it's a button on the wall That's orange flashing light and then as I'm laying in the tanning bed it's cracking and crunching I'm scared to death I'm going to get electrocuted and then the guy didn't give me my change, so I call up there once I get back home and he says well you walked out without it I said why you told me where my daughter was you told me to have a good day you could have give me the $2 then he says well put it on a prepaid account for you. I didn't want that I had told him I already tanned at another place and the only reason I went there is because my daughter wanted to tan. Please do not go there, it's a waste of money $11 I paid for one session for myself for 10 minutes not worth it!
West side fitness is by far the best overall gym I have been too. It adheres to all types of people. Whether you are a experienced lifter, a new lifter or just trying to get back in shape, westside fitness is a perfect gym. The staff is always friendly and wanting to help the members. The equipment is always in perfect working order and ready to use.

I cancelled my Planet Fitness membership after training at Westside Fitness for a week and I couldn't be happier with my decision! I love this place!

This gym is okay. For me, it was a little too small and cramped. The crowd it attracts seems more geared towards established body builders and power lifters and not so much to any other older age groups or beginners looking to start their weight loss. However, the vitamin sales aspect is really interesting. They can sell you protein and other workout efficient supplements right there. The staff was also chill and professional. Maybe when I'm more confident about my image and weight lifting output, I'll return and consider purchasing a membership. Their prices were cheaper than other gyms I had looked into.

There is an ex convict that works out here that will try to fight you in the middle of your workout for no apparent reason and the owner will not get rid of him(she has a soft spot for helping felons). Also note that the guy that sells all the supplements did 10 years in prison, also a felon. Gay people are not welcome here (I'm not gay but if you are you WILL be treated aggressively by the felon they call "big E"). Groups of individuals have been known to write "fags" on the floor in chalk and put arrows directed to anyone they suspect of being gay. Also, anyone under the age of 30 not welcome here as the patrons will bully you and confront you when you're trying to workout, even calling you names and laughing at you. Honestly, a bar on a Saturday night is a safer place. Don't get caught in the wrong place at the wrong time, this place is filled with people you don't want to get caught around. Reminds me of a half way house... The owner brings in these people intentionally, what an idiot.
Best gym in town hands down. Reasonable prices, and great staff and people. I have never felt more comfortable in a gym than I do here, it really is a community of people who care.

Awesome Place! The staff is so friendly and this is the best gym in Grand Rapuds. I love the old skool environment
Have been a member here for over 3 years and have never had a complaint. Staff is very friendly and helpful and they have everything you could ever need for equipment. Great gym, relaxed atmosphere, fairly priced.

One of the best gyms I've been to, especially for the amount of money they charge. The staff and clientele are SO nice, understanding, helpful, and courteous. On Sunday's they close at 1pm, quite early in my opinion. However Trey (employee) offered to stay passed hours to let specifically just me finish my workout. Half an hour too! It's stuff like that that keeps a gym alive and its customers loyal. The equipment is bountiful as well. If you're looking for pretty brand new rubber Dumbbells, "judgement free zones" (not needed, no one judges you here), and a tanning booth, it's not your place. This place has grit and character for people who are serious about lifting and exercise. They want you to do better and be better, the only thing that would stop you from doing that is yourself. So, don't do that. Be better because you are, stranger who is reading this review.
