Raven here is just fabulous every time I walk through the door I become elated to witness such a positive, can do attitude along with a smile that would make Angel's weep it's simply fantastic. 11 out of 10 would recommend to a friend even a friend of a friend to lift a dreary day!

I absolutely love this gym! The staff is super friendly and the equipment is always in good shape. I always feel so comfortable to come here and get a good work out!

I love the gym, but lately it seems with the new years resolutions coming around its been quite packed. I have trouble getting to use the machines I want to without having to wait or do something else. Not A huge deal, but thought I'd mention it. I am a 4 to 5 times/week customer of the gym.

Perfect place to go get in shape for a beginner. There are sooo many treadmills to choose from. I personally love the 30 minute workout room that's designed to get a full 30 minute varied workout in so you have guidance.

Loved how welcoming the staff were here. Signing up was super easy and I really like the lay out of the gym. Would definitely recommend making this your go to spot to workout!

I've been going to this gym location for the past month and I love it. I've never been a part of a gym for long due to high membership costs but with planet fitness it's so easy to join or cancel. The $10 a month comes with a sign up fee of $30 that sometimes gets waived for special holiday times like new years or around Christmas as well as a $40 a year fee. But it is by far the cheapest gym you'll find. My only complaint is they do not provide any towels so if you want to shower there, you will need to be bringing home a wet towel. But they have everything you will need, cardio machines, weight machines, dumbells, and a lot of other things. I love the atmosphere and it truly is the most judgment free zone you will find. I've played a lot of sports and am fairly athletic besides not playing any in the last few years and am a bit out of shape. Theres a people of all shapes sizes and athleticism here. Great place, great staff great cleanliness.

Love this gym! I usually come here after work and the 3rd shifters are awesome! Was complaining of my back hurting and the guy said to get a hydromassage. I told him I could only tan because I was there with my sister, and he let my sister join me because they were slow! This location is a great one!

Beware- they are the new Family Fitness. Was told by a staff member we had until the 17th to cancel our membership. Went to cancel the 14th and was told we actually had to cancel by the 10th and the payments were processing and "it is out of our hands." No remedy, or acknowledgement of their staff member's incorrect information, given.
When I called my bank to see what could be done about stopping payment the worker said PF is notorious for this.

Be careful, they will continue to take your money after cancellation. I have been in PF's all over the state and midwest for the last 3 years. This club has become so busy its hard to have space and use the equipment. I've seen staff using the restrooms without washing their hands, tanning areas are gross and shower floors stuck with Band-Aids. Place is dusty and pretty disgusting at times.

This is a hit or miss location. Sometimes when I go I have no issues and find it to be an easy and good experience as it should be to simply tan/workout. However, recently I find that their staff need to reevaluate their work ethic and why they are there. When I walk up to the front to sign in or sign up for tanning I hear conversations all about their personal drama, sex life, and even some offensive remarks (once I heard a staff member make crude remarks about one of the shows on the tv because it showed a gay couple). I have had staff ignore me until they were done with their conversation and even then they made it seem like I was interrupting. Last time I visited I went to tan and was told I would have to wait 5ish minutes until the time I signed up for comes around. I obviously understood and had no problem waiting on a couch nearby. After 45 minutes and watching several people walk up and go straight to the tanning room I asked he two ladies who asked me to wait for my time if I was still waiting for something and the two girls at the counter laughed and were like "Omg we completely forgot about you!!" and then they continued to talk to each other joking that it was up to the other person to remember to get me. I understand people forget and they might have a lot going on because I work in the industry, I totally get it...BUT some sort of sympathy or apology would have been polite. I am not upset by any means, however, as someone who is getting a degree in Hospitality and Management and has worked in management positions for years, I would never allow my staff to behave this way. They need to develop mature, professional, and personable qualities if they want to succeed in the work place and have a successful business.

I wouldn't rate it any stars if I could. I'm being charged every month on my card, but when I show up to cancel my account, I'm told I can't and that I owe $100!!!!
Then the manager tells me they can't cancel my account until I pay?!
Of course the manager boss wasn't there.
I went on Twitter to try to get help and that was a waste. So now I'm filing a complaint with the Grand Rapids Michigan Better Business Bureau.
How come I wasn't contacted before all these charges racked up?!
I'll work out at home, and will never recommend PF.

The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. The facility itself is clean and well maintained. I've been coming to this location since the start of the year, and I've been grateful for everything they offer.
Everything from threadmills and leg press machines to private stall showers, planet fitness has it all!!!
I'm not an easy customer to deal with, but these guys know how to do their job professionally, and still make it a fun place to work out.

As a college student not living in his home town. I have been to a couple locations around Grand Rapids and my home town east side. This particularly location is the best one I have seen.

Nice place fairly clean except for pet hair on floors and machines. Not great for allergies. Ive been in management for 20 years and the staff are nice enough but the team lacks age and cultural diversity. Customer service is ok except for one.

I was just kind of bummed that i didn't get a tour or anything on my first day there. Ive never been to a gym before so i walked around awkwardly until i just went to the 30 minute circuit work out.

I'm a 67 year old male, retired, and have worked out faithfully for the past thirty-five years. Always belonging to a gym. I rate this gym extremely user friendly. They / Planet Fitness does not tolerate bullying, intimadation of any sort. It's been a gift from God to have this type of facility come to our area. And they make it so affordable.

Don't waste your time coming here. You're better off going to snap or family fitness where they wont lie to your face. The old club manager would say anything just to get someone to sign up but in reality he put you in a BS contract. With the new club manager he'll admit to you that he knew of what the old club manager was doing and wont take any responsibly for what the old one had done and essentially just screw you out of your money. Literally worse customer service than Comcast.

This place is huge, clean and well organized. They have plenty of equipment for everyone, there is never a time you wait in line. If you go to Snap Fitness, you should seriously consider this GYM, it's 10 X the gym and cost significantly less!

I love sharing great experiences I encounter at places! I was very excited when they opened this location as it motivates me to go 5 or 6 times a week. I also take a second to read negative reviews as well. As far as the staff, I go in the morning before noon and the staff is great! They always welcome me and are very friendly! As far as equipment I am very satisfied. The tanning. I have one negative and that is the fact that clients cant read. They expect staff to clean beds when there is a sign asking to clean bed before and after. All and all I am happy to be part of the Lake Michigan Dr planet fitness!

I travel all over the country for work, hence the PF membership. I'm sorry to say that this location has the rudest, most unfriendly staff I have ever encountered in all my travels.
My home location would fire the staff if they treated patrons this way.
Abrupt, unhelpful and snotty. First words that come to mind.
Sadly, it's the closest location to where I am until December and I can't wait to get back to my home location where staff are friendly.
Small location also but they do have more tanning beds than home.

I joined a couple of months ago when the Lake Michigan Drive location first opened. I really enjoy all the new equipment and the staff seems friendly. However, I have had a couple horrible experiences. I work at a tanning salon and know how beds should be maintained, these beds are horribly kept and have probably never experienced a total clean. After one session, I noticed a living stink bug underneath one of the acrylics. This should tell you how often they are cleaning their beds. I chose to let it go and not make a big deal about it, but then comes the annual fee. I know that this location is new as are the employees. However, I was never verbally told about this annual fee of $39.99 for the black card membership. When it was pulled from my account and I became aware of it, I immediately called the location to ask what this charge was about. The guy told me that it's their fault they never told me about it but there's also nothing they can do which is ridiculous. Now I'm stuck wishing I could cancel my membership but not wanting to pay a cancellation fee for an account I never use. Guess I should read the FINE print before signing up with corporations like this who try to rob people of any money they can get from them.
