At $10/month it has all the equipment and has a great facility. Avoid 5-7 pm crowd

Gym was very functional and always mostly clean. Every once in awhile a machine would break but never for an extended period of time. It would get crowded but never to the point where it was intolerable.

Everything is great. Not a fan of the antiseptic spray bottles. They'll be better off with dispensers. Could be an economical decision. Save money with spray bottles...makes sense. I don't blame PF.

Very good place for working out. Love it

Worst staff.

Asked for a massage chair and had to wait for 15 min as she is working other customers. It will not even take a min to get the coin but she is rude. After 15 min waiting I left the place.
Increase the staff or keep the massage coins next to the log book.

Decent gym, has all you need but the Smith machines are always broken for some reason. Very crowded around 6pm but the people who come here are friendly and nice to talk to

Super friendly staff and a well kept location

I followed the owner's advice (posted in a response to my original review here) and went in to this location to speak directly with a manager about my negative experience with a staff member. The manager seemed not at all interested in addressing the problem, but instead seemed very defensive. She even seemed to be attempting to hold back laughter when I spoke (I'm not sure exactly why, but it was awkward). I cannot in good faith recommend this location to anyone, for the reason that--in my experience--staff seems not at all interested in making this a welcoming location for everyone.

To be fair, it is a relatively clean location, and many of the staff are really nice, particularly the night crew. Parking is a challenge, but available with effort and patience. All the areas inside can be quite busy (cardio, weights, machines... everything), to the extent that I could never rely on the availability of basic equipment, even a lifting bench or a treadmill, for example. That said, most of the equipment worked, if you could get onto it. If this were all, it would be an acceptable deal for the relatively low price (although, as I've learned, several local mom-and-pop's gyms have just as good facilities for a comparable price; so if this location isn't for you, you do have other options close by).

The real problem was a trainer who persisted giving me unwanted advice, to the point of threatening to set the lug alarm off on me. C'mon. I'm a long-term athlete who has been working out for over 35 years. As a SGT in the Army, I led Physical Training, including special population PT. But I also acquired a severe injury to my back, that limits my mobility. In physical therapy, years later I learned, with training, how to strengthen my back with resistance training, but I cannot physically get into all positions, nor do I have the same range of motion as I used to. So, chewing me out for not being able to preform certain motions "correctly" isn't helpful...something which this staff member would've learned if they stopped talking at me. If staff would've listened, they might have understood...but neither the staff member nor the manager I spoke with later seemed interested in any compassionate listening. Rather, they seemed impatient, persistently curt, and defensive.

Finally, I'm transgender. I felt very welcomed at other PF locations, including the wonderful PF location in Chapel Hill, NC where I first joined, before moving here and unfortunately transferring my membership to this unhappy location. I had a good relationship with the manager there. I never felt comfortable, however, in this location. Corporate PF is very friendly to the LGBT community, which is why I want to support them. Sadly, however, I cannot recommend this location to my LGBT brothers and sisters.

The issue of limited space aside, this location has a lot of strengths. More professional, better-trained management who actually listen to their customers would make all the difference. I've never had a comparable problem at other locations outside MA, and still fully support Planet Fitness. This location is the exception; not the rule.

Mixed feelings about this location. I'm a long-term PF member--or was--until a few days ago, when a staff member here couldn't restrain herself from giving me unwanted and unneeded advice, even after I asked her multiple times to stop. Many of the other staff here are great; though some are not particularly friendly. That said, most of the equipment works and is clean...all you can really ask for the low price. No question, however, that this location is overcrowded, even during times that wouldn't typically be busy at other locations; I could never count on getting access to basic equipment at any time of day or night, like even a lifting bench, for instance. Even the cardio equipment can be full, all the treadmills for instance; something I never experienced at other locations. The overcrowding is magnified by the relatively limited space in this PF location compared with others I have frequented. All in all, I will miss coming here...but if I can't work out without sustained, unwanted, and arrogant interruption by persistent staff, I'll go somewhere else where I can enjoy my workout in peace. It's not like I'm new to this, folks...I've been doing cardio and lifting weights for over 35 yrs, and I used to lead PT in the Army. Back off, let people who want a quiet workout have it (esp when they express their desire for that clearly), and you'll have happier customers. Pushy, know-it-all trainers are a drag. What else? Parking can be a drag, even during times which you wouldn't expect to be busy.

It has two plans and the membership is $10 or $20 per month. It has lots of equipments, TRX, hydro bed and chair massage and tanning. The equipment s are not high end.

Great gym they have everything you need to work out

I've been going there for 3 years. It has a good helpful staff and is always clean.

I like that it is a no judgement zone. I can wear whatever and get my excersise in. Helpful staff.

I look forward to my workout at this planet fitness. Great location, very accessible. The ladies room can be gross, but I try to avoid going in there most of the time.

This place is extremely over crowded. People sit around on the machines without using them. People who do use the machines do not always clean up after themselves. The 30-minute workout area is used at the at-large machines, nobody follows the rules. There is no scale on the premises.
The staff do nothing to control the flow of the place. Very often the paper towel machines are empty or the cleansing spray bottles are empty. There are plenty of staff members there, they just do not walk around and keep an eye on the workout areas.
During peak times of crowds they have classes that designate portions of the gym that people not in their classes cannot use.
They accommodate large portions to small groups instead of the majority being able to use what they all pay equally for.
If there is rain or moisture outside, everybody drags it inside and that causes much slipping and hazards.
Nobody is allowed to make requests on the televisions, which are primarily on NEWS stations or HGTV. Very hard to look up at TV's while on cardio machines. Why not play sports at a gym? WIFI has never worked.
It is as if this is run like a glorified playground controlled by a few while the rest suffer.

It is not my job as a paying customer to tell the employees to do or how to do their jobs. That is what their jobs are.

If you can fix the WiFi problem, I would give you five star. It should not cost a lot to fix the WiFi I thought. Very poor connection when in the building.

Horrible experience, I was still getting billed after my membership expired. They are very unprofessional in dealing with cancellations. The manager wouldnt come to the phone to help me and there so called corporate office is just a bunch of non experienced customer service reps that cant do anything to help.
Even the manager at their corporate office was too busy to take my call.
So basically they dont refund customers after they over charge for months...

Scam

Great place: lots of stations and tanning beds. Always very clean and staff is friendly.

The Wi-Fi is insanely horrible....FIX!

I've been a member of PF in two other states, and this one is really inferior in comparison. The layout is cramped and awkward, and it's overcrowded. The location isn't big enough for the demand in the area, so you have to avoid peak times to reliably get a machine. Parking is a pain, even if you park in back (but at least there is additional parking back there). The equipment is a huge downgrade from the other PF facilities I've been to, which is really disappointing considering the price is the same.

Great place to workout, could be better customer service.

I signed up for a 1 year contract. They billed me for 18 months without telling me. They have a complete record showing that I used this gym 0 times in the last 6 months. I tried to get a refund and they told me I had an implied continuous membership and it was on me to know I had to go into the gym to cancel rather than assume a 1 year contract was for 1 year. I once called the gym to cancel (3 months before my year was up) and they told me it was cheaper to just keep it for the time being and it would run out. I can only assume that this was an attempt to keep me on so I just kept paying for a membership I wasn't using. Very deceiving tactics they use there. Would steer clear.

Awesome gym very clean environment. The management and staff there is perfect, definitely recommend this gym.

October 25, 2017 07:13

Some of the desk staff are very rude. Seem bothered when questioned. Girl at desk today could really use some customer service training.

October 25, 2017 07:13

Ridiculous place. They charged me late fee for no reasons and i did have enough money on my account. Be aware folks.

October 25, 2017 07:13

Pretty nice facilty, very clean and everyone is pretty friendly. The only downside is there are no free weights like barbells and what not but you just have to be creative. All in all a well designed gym and the massage chairs are a nice feature since i sometimes get back pain.
