I think the staff who work at the desk are really kind individuals and have been friendly and compassionate every time I have gone to the YMCA.
My one concern was with one of the higher ups she was very rude and judgmental about me being in a program and kept hounding me and questioning me like it's my fault I am mentally ill and have ptsd from being abused
Some of the nicest people are like me and I'm just making the best of the hand I was dealt not all of us grew up in a loving home some of us couldn't finish school because we were in and out of foster homes being abused and I don't want or need more judgments from someone who doesn't know me or everything I've been through
Not everyone who is mentally ill is dangerous or bad some of us are good people who are just trying to make their lives better
The staff are amazing the pools almost always open they have a huge and decent gym and when you go you have so many options of what to do while your there
It's a functional gym, with a very nice lap pool that almost always has lanes open and whirlpool. Don't listen to reviews saying this place is a disaster. Don't expect modern and yes they could use a significant capital improvement and possibly new coat of paint :-). Staff has been super-friendly to me.

Parking here is a nightmare. Perfectly normal people park in handicapped spots and no one says anything. They should be towed! I tell the woman at the desk and she says oh well. I have a cane and handicapped parking permit, but had to park across the street. Oh well. Rude.

I went in on a sunday and i was told league games untill 3:00 only to find out there was a childrens practice from 3 till close. Ive waited since 12:00 and wasted my time for nothing.

It's okay. The equipments need to be upgraded. The weight room is too packed to feel safe walking around with weights all over the place, and unmatched dumbbells. I gotta pay extra to use the steaming room so that sucks.

The staff always have a smile and welcoming environment I work out in peace no distraction the locker room is clean no trash thrown about
Unfortunately I can't give zero stars. This place is an absolute disaster unless you're there for the pool or child care, which seems to be all they care about; whatever brings them the most money. Freezing cold showers. Tiny, decrepit, and unsafe weight room, which of course was also downsized for more kid space. Equipment in both the weight room and main fitness area missing bolts and falling apart. Treadmills not cared for and slip which is a knee injury waiting to happen. Not to mention endless lawsuits waiting to happen for that and everything else. Unsupervised children everywhere; to include my wife's car getting hit with a basketball multiple times in the private lot out back last week. All staff (fitness, lifeguards, front desk, etc.) constantly on their cell phones and not doing a single bit of work. As for the credibility of this review, I worked at this Y for 9 years (held to much higher standards then), have a BS in exercise science, worked for years as a personal trainer, worked on fitness equipment for over a year, and currently manage a gym. If you must go to a Y, do yourself a favor and make the drive up 44 to Middleboro, since Taunton is an absolute embarrassment.

My work out place the best
Front staff have been great over the years. I just wish they would enforce folks sanitizing machines after use and provide sanitizing products near all machines. Nor sure why towels are not provided.
I'm here all the time. Everything is clean and well run. Perfect for all ages all the time.
