Came into the gym today to switch my billing to a different bank account. I learned that my account had been behind on 3 months of payments when I was unable to use the gym during that time period. Herman was awesome in helping me resolve this by waiving the 3 Months of payments that I did not use the facility, Herman saved me about $100. Super nice guy and he went above and beyond to help me. Thank you Herman!

Just signed up. The pool is nice (good temperature). The people who showed me around were kind, helpful, and knowledgeable.

I wish they had personal trainers that could help me set up a program. (You can't just sign up for one or 2 sessions, you have to sign up for a year, at $135 minimum. I can't financially do that, and it makes me very sad!)

Been a member on and off for 5 years, have always loved this facility and its members. Recently i needed to cancel my membership, id been having a difficult time doing so until Herman stepped in and took care of it nice and quick. Ive been other places in the past where the staff no longer cares to help you or go out of their way if you're trying to cancel a membership, but because Herman was as good of a dood as he is ill definitely be coming back to this gym when the time is right for me

Dramatic improvements over the past year or so. The main manager, Herman, seems to be working overtime to make the gym more user-friendly, cleaner, and host to a better social atmosphere. I've been going to this gym for around 9 years, but recently it seems to have a better look and vibe all around. The greatest improvement has been the cleanliness of the facility.

Wonderful gym. Almost always clean. All of the staff are sweet except for the manager. I love this gym other than a misunderstanding that I had about my renewal rate. Thankfully the sales rep who I signed up with had my back.

Long story short, I was promised a discounted renewal rate with and also without a guest privilege option. My membership agreement was drafted poorly and therefore did not reflect this rate in a straight forward way. I understand why the manager would assume the rate based on the agreement but he did not handled the entire situation well at all. Unfortunately the manager, Herman, whom many bad reviews speak about, was rude, unaccommodating, and acting as if I was not worth his time. He gave me attitude over the phone and when I made time to come in on my lunch break thirty minutes later, he gave me the impression of lack of compassion or grace. Such a shame. It is too bad that he is the face of this wonderful gym because Herman gives it a bad name. I still am on the fence with renewing here because he has left such a bad taste in my mouth.

Shout out to Allison, the sales rep who gave me a wonderful rate and kept her word. She called me back and handled the situation professionally and did not speak with attitude like Herman did. She explained the mistake and took credit for it when it very well could have been someone else's mistake. She answered all of my questions with graciousness and came to a resolution. What I really admired about her was that she remembered my exact situation from a year ago. That is real customer service. LA Fitness is still in, Allison is in, as for Herman, he has got to go.

Note to anyone who has gotten this far, take it from me, read your agreement carefully and ask every question. Take the agreement home and come back to sign it. Where is states: Services and there is a check mark for guest privileges, make sure the amount says $240 and not $20. Even if you know it means $20 times 12 months ($240). If I was a passive person and not did stand up for myself, I would have paid a ridiculous rate.

Fantastic gym! Staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Plenty of room and equipment even at peak hours. Very reasonably priced for what you get. Herman and Allison both made signing up a breeze!

If all you want is a gym, this place is alright. The weight section is open after being closed for repair for a few months. I love the sauna. The pool and hot tub seem kinda gross so I use them sparingly. If you come on the weekend, expect only 1 out of 8 showers to be free of debris, have any soap AND have full water pressure; also, do not expect toilet paper or paper towels to be stocked. They don't give a rip about you on the weekend.

Since new management came to the gym it's made me decide to keep my membership. Herman Pittman is a great manager and really keeps the gym in great order. I'm extremely impressed with the way things are now. Keep it this way.

Facility is clean around the clock and staff is very friendly and super helpful. Signing up wasn't a hassle and easy to understand. I signed up for a personal trainer thinking I needed a little push in the right direction. Let me tell you, personal trainer Dennis is just as dedicated to helping you see results just as much as you are. Man's amazing and really pushes his clients to their fullest potential!

There's a plethora of equipment and activitied to keep you active. A sauna, pool, basketball court and even a children's area if you have any small young ones with you. Equipment is cleaned around the clock throughout the day and there's a sense of fresh ans clean every time you go to use a machine. I love it!

Great gym, very clean and welcoming. Gym has a lot of great fitness equipment as well as a basketball Court, the daycare is a very safe and trustworthy environment , Operational Manager Herman Pittman has truly turned this place around for the best, always making sure his clients are satisfied and keeping the whole gym in order, I would recommend this gym to anyone

Since Herman Pittman has become the new Operations Manager LA Fitness has done a complete 360. He has turned Springfield LA fitness into safe,clean, and friendly environment. Herman has been working around the clock to ensure the safety of the members and addressing concerns in a timely manner. The facility is in better conditions now than they were 3 years ago. I HIGHLY recommend this gym to anyone looking for a great environment to workout in. Amazing job LA Fitness in hiring someone who cares about making LA Fitness a great environment.

Since new management has taken over the building as done a complete 360. Herman Pittman the new operations manager has turned Springfield LA fitness into safe,clean, and friendly environment. The facilities are clean and management is moving around non stop correcting issues within the gym. I recommend this gym to anyone looking for a great environment to workout in. Great job LA Fitness in hiring new management.

A great local gym. The amenities include a swimming pool and jacuzzi; sauna; plenty of cardio/weight machines, and a good amount of benches. Only three squat racks, so at certain peak times there can be a lengthy wait- a solution would be to have a designated deadlift area. Overall, facilities are clean, and staff are friendly. Cancellation process is a pain, if in the event you need to for any reason. I pay $25 a month and think that it's a fair price for the value that I'm getting.

Great gym set up, but poor management and customer service and I don't refer to the ones at the desk more of the one in charge of fitness. They took my credit card info via phone to sign up for a membership, but once I left state I called to cancel because I called numerous of times to get the head of management and he was never in they continued to charge my card for months and refused to take the card info off via phone. I had to get unpleasant with them in order to break the membership.

I like it a lot there is room for everyone no matter how many are here at one time. There iis a pool hot tub and sauna! Just like the " mother ship" in LA. Come in

Not clean enough. Disgusting attitudes and not worth the money. Mainly ppl who are already in shape and are gym rats go here which is ok. Snob attitudes and weak management. I'd still like to see ppl who need work. Also. The employees don't clean nor have sanitary products often. To b downtown this location should b better.

Let me start by saying that I go to other LA Fitness gyms regularly in addition to this one: this is my take Springfield.

I agree with all of the not so great reviews on here. There are no exaggerations. Legit this is just a gym not a gym community. Very cliquey sort of a stank environment from the regulars and the staff. Often no paper towels or toilet tissue and no staff is wandering around to ensure these things are taken care of. Not enough disinfecting stations; folks just grunt, sweat, and walk away from machines. You never see staff cleaning either.

Also the machines are set up weird so you'll have to walk from floor to floor to fully get your workout in. It's not terrible but def needs some work.

On the up side: great size gym. You can't beat the view. Great amenities. Good location and if you can set aside all of the shenanigans - you'll surely get a great workout.

First time at this gym and it was nice. The fact that things are on different floors was very interesting, but once I figured out where everything was it was a great experience.

I searched everywhere around me for a really hot sauna and this place was my final choice. I tried it out on a week guest pass and the sauna was always on and hot. I ended up joining just to sauna once a week and it's been great however you cannot control the occasion inconsiderate people who go in there blasting music on their phones and ruin the relaxing experience. To avoid this you must go at very odd times. Otherwise there are 3 floors with a ton of equipment.
