Pay your workers better. Clean the facility once in a while. Stop admitting new guests and promoting overcrowding. Front desk staff needs to act more polite towards guests. Whole place is a disappointment
Family shower Room need to be cleaned better,Pool Area need to be cleaned better as well,you can see people hair and small pieces of paper towels on the floor.
The best place to work out
Very quick and easy sign up. I spoke to two different staff at the front desk regarding my membership and both were very helpful. They even waived my joiner fee without any hesitation when I told them it was on the website.
Great family friendly place. Our girls love the toddler room!

The staff there are incredibly nice and willing to give wonderful tours to those interested in a membership. Everyone I know who has a membership there enjoys it and seems very satisfied. If you don't have a membership though, classes and other things can be very pricey and make sure that if you do get a membership that you use it. Since it's in Quincy Center it's easy to get to by train through the red line, or by bus. If you're pretty serious about getting in shape and/or want some recreational fun then I can certainly recommend.

Judgement-free, accommodating, secure, clean, comfortable, challenging, diverse, and encouraging. I have been coming here since January and see a very bright future in exercise.

After spending 30 mins there. I ask the front desk if I can use the bathroom. She said the bathroom is for members of clubs only. I was hold my baby with me and I can't using the bathroom. Bad costumer service.

Rejoined 2 weeks ago and am very satisfied with everything so far. Front desk very polite, friendly, and helpful.
No enforcement of any rules. People openly use prohibited cell phones in locker rooms. Dozens of old women NEVER shower before using pool for water aerobics - stinky and unsanitary! People use restricted oils and creams in the steam room. Yuck. For $70 a month you would think that someone would enforce the rules. No one there takes ownership.
The men's locker room is abominable, always smells like sewage, showers are unreliable, and I won't even talk about the clientele. The machines are pretty nice and other than the bathroom the place isn't bad. Pool is good and never had an issue finding a lane.
Everything at this gym is first class except for the steam, sauna and lockerrooms. Steam and sauna are tiny and cooed. Sauna does not get hot. Lockerroom showers are always broken and the floors have stagnant pooled dirty water. Staff has always been friendly and helpful. Lots to do with kids. Excellent daycare staff except every time i bring my girls there they get sick, but i chalk this up to people bringing sick kids to the gym, which i find careless. It would be great if they could reinstall a heavy bag or two, not some flimsy plastic based bag a kid could knock over. Otherwise a great facility.
Rude staff. I went to cancel my membership because of moving. They seem not glad and being not patient at all. If they treat me nice, I may consider to come back one day. But now I probably won't do that. Very short sighted. They should treat people equally whatever joining or quitting. Also the 30-day notice policy is mean.
We love this place! Ok, sometimes the staff can be rude but mostly they are friendly and helpful. Roy the soccer coach was attentive and gave great instruction to my 7 yr old son in the soccer class. We play basketball with the adjustable basketball hoops, do weights and stationary bike (there is a great orientation for 7 - 12 on how to use the weights, bikes, etc my son loves it) and the pool is always warm. The only thing we don't like is the shower rooms in the Family Locker Room. The concept is wonderful, it's only the shower rooms need more space to put your things (more hooks, a changing table). The floor is always wet because the way it is designed it doesn't drain well. Also, the tile around the pool is a bit too slippery. But we still love it. It has a great atmosphere and if you are looking to get in shape, this is the place to be!
How is this non profit organization when u charge $68/month for gym fee. It's ridiculous to even think that it is non profit. I used to pay only $25/month at Charlestown facility and there was no sign up fee. Now I moved to quincy and went to sign up for the membership and I was totally blown away by the ridiculous fee. And also there was $100 sign up fee. The staff was not friendly nor helpful. This YMCA need to remove the illusion of being non profit.
There is no bar at the pool side for exercise, and there is a lack of personal hygiene when entering the pool. Signaling is not suitable for class performance. The teacher is great!
Rude staff: I was on the bike with my friend and one of the staff came over and said u guys can't hang out here if u want to hang out u have to go downstairs. We were working out. We were just a little slow because we just finished running and the effort level was really high so we did it slowly. This guy just came over and giving us a lecture. The same guy came over earlier because we were siting on The rope machine. I was working out and my friend was talking to me and he came and yelled at my friend. He was like " what are you doing? You can't bother her when she's working out." And now he's saying that we are hanging out when we were working out. Just because we were talking that doesn't mean that we aren't working out. He was also really rude to us. Never seen anyone like this at the y. Really disappointed about this. Does this mean that we have to constant work out when we are upstairs, so we can't even rest for a second. When he came over we were pedaling just a little slow cause the effort level was 25. He just came and said u guys can't hang here. Then I told him that we are working out but he was like no ur not, you guys are just hanging out here. He was rude and disrespectful. I think he's just picking on us. Some people sit on the machines but he doesn't say anything but when we were working out he came over and yelled at us. I think they should fix this. Even if we were siting on the machine as long as we weren't bothering other ppl it should be fine. There was like no one at the y so I don't understand why he came over and started yelling at us. And plus we were working out. We were pedaling slowly that's all. And we were using our phone at the same time but that doesn't mean we aren't working out. Really disappointed about this. This is unacceptable.
