Nice atmosphere for yoga
I've been a student here for two years. It's rare you find a yoga community in such a fast-paced city that truly feels like a family. When you walk in, life slows down. All of the teachers are far more experienced than I've seen at other Boston-area studios. Great variety of classes and teaching styles. Reasonable prices and a solid schedule of special events and workshops. They take good care of their spaces and their students. It's no surprise they win Best of Boston year after year!

Lame. Floor bubbling up in big room. Who installs a padded floor for yoga? Worse than concrete or carpet even, totally inappropriate for balance poses.
Iyengar instructor Susan Elena Esquivel is pathetic. Refuses to allow water in class, easily opening herself and studio to litigation which they would lose or settle if a medical condition or emergency related to a disability occurred. Furthermore complained that I did a handstand while they were putting chairs away between poses.
In my 20 year experience, only the most insecure and lame instructors complain when students modify their practice. My practice, NOT hers or the studio, mine. Very sad. And a week class also, billed as Level II with ridiculously easy poses.
The one and only yoga heaven in the greater Boston area. Amazing teachers and community. All day classes catering to all different people.
I am new to the area, came to this place and fell in love! Clean, friendly environment, 2 hour street parking is abundant, they have everything one needs in a yoga studio! Two yoga rooms, nice clean as well as clean bathrooms, lockers, and most importantly a wide range of classes and times - all day long. Wonderful place!
A home for Iyengar yoga, and other styles including Ashtanga, flow, hot. Well run business, excellent teachers.
Very nice studio. Clean and convenient. Great teachers and atmosphere.

If you want to learn about Yoga then this is the place to go!
I am not someone who likes everything. Actually I am an overly critical sort.
The reason that this studio is above and beyond is multifaceted:
1. All the teachers here are passionate about yoga, meaning very educated and fantastic at relaying their knowledge about technique, integrating anatomy, correct alignment and inspiration while conducting a cohesive class.
2. The Studio offers Iyengar, flow, and heated flow and relax and renew. Most studios, except a few, offer only one variety of yoga or have a very limited schedule. Down under yoga offers the best of the best and in ample amounts.
3. There is far more than enough parking around the studio. There are two huge parking lots right by the supermarket and starbucks.
4. The desk staff is amazing and kind and want to help...this is vastly different from many yoga studios where there is an attitude when you first walk in or there is no staff at all.
5. The people who attend the classes are of all ages, and stages of learning about yoga and they even offer yoga for kids.

Gorgeous studio with constant improvements. Amazing instructors - kind, knowledgeable, caring and professional. My regular practice there leaves me feeling healthy, refreshed and motivated to maintain a more balanced lifestyle. Great atmosphere and plenty of classes to choose from at all levels. Convenient times that make it easy to work in everyones busy schedule.

Great studio!! New to yoga and they have a variety of classes, and great about helping beginners settle in! Has helped my life and training outside of yoga immensely!
