I forced myself to come to the second class because I bought a month-long intro package. Both teachers were speaking at such a fast rate that I felt as if I was bidding at an auction. I didn't have the space to feel or even enjoy the poses (all of which I have previously practiced, and enjoyed). No attention paid to breathe (unlike most other yoga practices), which is strange. I don't know if this is how Bikram yoga is but it rarely felt precise although most of the class was the blabbering of instructions after instructions. No time to stay in postures as well. I've been doing Vinyasa for four years, and never encountered a class like the two I attended. Both the teachers went on rants that were neither helpful or genuine. One spoke in this way, "Wow, no one in here looks like they are having fun...well, if I was you right now I would have a ball" and "almost there, Bob! almost there, Jane!" unnecessary encouraging phrases which isn't even the point of yoga, and don't forget "you must reach your toes, you must!" There was no flexibility in the poses or variations--again this was my first and last experience with Bikram, so I am not sure if all Bikram classes are THIS rigid. I do not write negative reviews, but I paid for a month and simply cannot come back for another class. Another reason this is not my style is because I practice to find my center. If you are looking for a place to sweat, and you can handle some older ladies speaking non-stop for an hour in a half...hot yoga factory may be the place for you. I hope they get some new, young and fresh teachers and allow their students more freedom. Lastly, I truly hope the teachers learn to give helpful instructions instead of non-stop RANT of repeated phrases. You can tell how each class is taught the same because the teachers sounded straight out of an infomercial. I am hoping this review will reach Yogis who have already developed a practice, but please ignore this review if you have had no exposure to yoga before (you might like this style if you are of the baby boomer generation).
