Do not bring your kid here to play youth sports. The director is by far the worst!!! He plays favorites and if your kid is not his favorite, then do not plan on making any teams!! He will offer you ways to better your kids skills, by paying him more money, and then he flakes out. GOOD LUCK if you already attend!! Big SCAM for money for nothing, look for other accredited organizations for REAL sports skills.
I wish you can give less than one star as a review they have poor member service and dont look for the needs off the members and suck at informing you things and making it a better experience for you especially me being a loyal member.

I take the spin classes all the instrutors are great if they ever let any of them like deb Richard or Todd I will go somewhere else
My experience was Horrible and unorganized. I just signed my son up for the peewee basketball league. Paid the money and now 4 weeks into still haven't heard anything from the director. I left 3 messages on his phone and still nothing. I call his boss and left 2 messages and still nothing from him. I'm not rich to be getting scammed out of money. Keep in mine people they had 4 games and nothing. When I went there and call they always say the managers are in meetings or left for the day everytime. Never again would I go there or recommend to anyone I know, that is for sure.
Have been a member for 10 years and can say this place has been an enormously positive impact on my life. I started lifting weights with my friends at 14 before the renovation. Now they have top of the line equipment and a spot for Olympic lifting which no other gym (besides a crossfit gym) within 20 miles has. They have a clean pool and a steam room AND sauna. Friendly informative staff and a good sense of community. I will continue to be a member for a while.
I didn't stay long because of schedule conflicts. They had good equipment and a nice pool, but when I went to cancel my membership, I had a bunch of trouble. When I called the desk, the line was dropped, twice, before I talked to anyone. When I spoke with member relations, I was asked to write an e-mail, and when the person on the other end went to look up an address to sent it to, I was on hold for ten minutes before the line dropped again. After trying to call several more times, I went over to the Y personally and said I wanted to cancel my membership, and they handed me a simple cancellation form. Why didn't they say I could do that in the first place?
Aside from that, the staff was overly busy and sometimes unhelpful, or didn't get back with you on things such as classes they recommend.
Honestly astounded that this YMCA has a rating higher than 3. Yes the staff is all very friendly but not everyone is helpful. There is a ridiculous amount of disorganization and neglect in this building. The equipment is old, falling apart and unclean. There is dust everywhere and that creates problems for people with allergies. The pool is always dirty because they won't listen to the patrons and purchase a working vacuum. The chlorine is always too high or low and causes serious dry skin and rashes. There is dirt and hair clumps all around the building even after the cleaning crew has "cleaned the building" because they neglect areas that need to be cleaned (for no reason). Many patrons have left their membership here for the North Andover YMCA because the pools are always clean, staff is friendly AND happy and complaints are acknowledged and taken care of like they should be. It's embarrassing to be associated with this YMCA because they say that they hold themselves to high standards. I wish they would listen to their staff and patrons constructive criticism so that people would enjoy attending and be proud to work for this employer.
