Adequate. Gold's Gym South Boston has room to lift weights, including space for free weights, squat racks, and bench presses, as well as adequate parking, things Planet Fitness lacks, but it could be so much better. Snow removal in the parking lot is second-rate, and a broken down van with two flat tires has been occupying one of the best parking spots for months. The bathrooms are fetid, the drinking fountain, in pieces. Noxious music blares -- intermittently (the satellite connection is erratic). Inside the gym, space is poorly used and badly maintained, underheated in the winter and overly hot in the summer. Walls have holes in them, mirrors are cracked or missing, and they seem to have trouble keeping staff. Savin Hill is up and coming, hopefully someday a better gym will come to the neighborhood, meantime, logic and traffic still make this rundown gym the only choice if you live closeby, unfortunately.
