Not bad at all! Convenient and easy to find, not to mention the 24/7 benefit. This particular Planet Fitness makes excellent use of its space, especially considering how much more skinny and narrow the building is. My few gripes with this gym concern the equipment. There are very few machines here that have been noticeably banged-up. I'm mostly referring to the wobbly pull up machine, where the rubber handles have also been horribly worn out. Sometimes, the paper towels aren't filled entirely and very seldom do they jam. At least in my experience. Everything else is satisfactory. The lockers are clean, the floor isn't a mess, people wipe the equipment down properly. I have no other complaints.
You can't beat the price. However, it gets extremely busy after work and I have had to wait for stationary bikes quite a few times. The weight area downstairs also gets packed and you are constantly waiting to use a machine. 3/4 stationary bikes have also been broken for over a month (one for several months). Finding a full length locker can be a pain during rush hour. The locker handles where you fit the locks through are broken on over half of the tall lockers in the bathroom, so you can't lock them. It also tends to smell a bit when it's so packed. The bathroom stalls usually smell like urine and are dirty. Although Planet Fitness likes to pretend like meatheads don't attend, they definitely do at this location. People also like to sit on machines on their phones longer than a typical rest time, which makes it especially annoying when it's busy. On the weekends it's not bad there.
Came here with a friend who had a black car membership here. It was a totally great experience and loved how well kept this gym is. I maybe thinking about a membership of my own.
Excellent gym offering 24-hour service throughout the year. It does get crowded, mostly after regular work hours, but for the price charged it is as good as it gets.
Not enough space! just move to area I dont prefer Plant Fitness but i tried to keep an open mind as it is short walk for me. The first thing that stood out not even close to enough equipment and people literally would camp out on one machine not even working out. One gentleman literally sat on the same machine and did maybe one or 2 sets in 45mins of sitting there people had no ablity to maximize space so everyone can train trying to get to the weight rack was a joke one person taking a space that two people could fit in or a person using two benches to super set and taking up have the space. I understand its a beginner gym but that was the most clustered mess i have never waited in line for a curl bar.
I had a horrible and unbelievable experience! About PF customer service.
This morning at 6:00am. My friend and I went to The Planet Fitness in Downtown Crossing Boston MA to know the place. Seeing if we liked it or not. We'd thought that it will be perfect for our work out every morning and PF is near to our jobs. But guess what! We approached at the front desk and requested a guest pass for a day because Planet Fitness's webside offered. But the guy who yawned while he's sitting with his hood full covered his head in half of his face told us that It's not true, there aren't free day passes. Honestly I didn't want any drama at 6:00am so accepted his answered. I told myself to let it go; then we asked him for a tour, he declined saying that he can't leave the desk because there is nobody else at that time.
what I understood. Then we asked him if we can go and check around the gym by ourselves. He said "NO, just paid the $20 and you can get in" So I told him that we wanted to see the place before sign in. But the guy actitude was so bad. Then we decided to left the place sadly.
PF should trainning better his employees.

It has great equipment and a wide selection to choose from but the bathroom is gross from time to time and hosts homeless people inside the rest room which makes me feel uncomfortable I think that there shouldn't be any fear in a gym at all. There is also a lot of people damaging the equipment by slamming it. There also isn't enough paper towels and spray to clean the equipment from time to time. Please fix this.

Good equipment and a nice facility overall. Definitely worth $10/mo, or $20 for the Black card.
I use to really like this gym.I've been a member for years.Even after the judgment zone.Shut off the cold water in January and I had to leave shampoo in my hair because it burt me.Even after someone shut the lights off at 530 in the morning. It was so dark.I thought I was going to slip.I rejoined. 2 months ago. They never told me they were taking $58.00 dollars in June.I thought they did it right away. This cost me another $40.00.I don't like liers or thifes.Corporate or the little guy.I will be cancelling for another $58.00.
Great gym, I wish they had free weights besides just the Smith machines and up to 60 lb o fixed barbells.
Well, this place is also my home gym.
Really nice gym right in the middle of the city. I can get my work done and after that I can get my workout done.
They have all the equipments which are needed, gym is really popular and mostly full during rush evening hours after work
Try working out before evening or in the morning. There are sufficient machines to help people out
Staff is friendly and gym is affordable as compared to other gyms in Boston area which are ready to put a hole in your pocket

The management is very helpful and professional. They are often on site to answer any questions. There is lots of equipment to choose from.
Amazing caring instructors, excellent facilities, and classes worth traveling for. The only gym worth joining if you are serious about your fitness and health.
The judgement free zone. One of the few big corporations that I will do business with. They have plenty of equipment for those busy days. This location does not have a separate area for black card members but they have tanning and massage chairs. Although they are really near the entrance.
This location is in the basement with bad air circulation, it's always hot and lack of oxygen here. Bathroom always stink.
One black male staff is always rude and just chat with his friends or play with his phone all the time. One massage bed was broken at a time and he kicked people out from the other massage bed because his friends wanted to use it, he just said the bed was being used for too long?!
Don't recommend.
Nice complement of cardio machines (treadmills, ellipticals, etc) on the first basement level, and weight machines on the second level. More natural light would have been preferable but it's understandable given the space constraints in downtown Boston.
Let me start by saying that this place has good equipment, but I almost gave it 3 stars and here's why. The place is an absolute zoo around 5pm and most of the time you won't get a squat rack or bench press, there just isn't enough room. Secondly, this is a big one for many, they ONLY HAVE SMITH MACHINES. It must be a PF thing, but there are no regular squat racks or bench presses.
You get what you pay for at Planet Fitness. Overall it's clean and machines are usually always working. The down side is it is a busy spot. Can be difficult to get your workout in during the 4-7pm time. They could use more dumbbells and people do not always have the best edicate. But for $10 a month you can't really beat it.

Because of the price, I'll rate this location as 'ok' .
It is always so hot in this gym and in an odd neighborhood. The gym itself has a large number of treadmills, ellipticals and other machines you would need, but it is not necessarily the most inviting environment. Basic and worth what you pay!
Good amount of space and because people in Boston have no spine, everyone behaves the PF way.
Open 24 hours, GREAT LOCATION (Downtown X-ing Winter St
Great planet fitness i usually go after 9 pm calm not much going on and the train station is conveniently close. The staff is also one of the best out of three planet fitness i have been to.
It is 24hr considering Boston isn't NYC that is saying something. All cardio machines have cable TV. Would give 5 stars if only they would be open on holidays. We adult orphans need someplace to go to kill time alone.
very convenient location & hours. My friend has the black card, and I've been going in for free for 2 months now. Go after 7pm after the rush!
Unfortunately, these people just don't care enough about their members. Yes, I get it that the prices are cheap but there will be only 2 SHOWERS OF 5 OPEN in the mens changing area for the next few months. When they last had a section closed of the mens changing room, it was closed for MONTHS with the promise that there would be many new lockers, which simply did not happen....Only a few lockers were added despite months of disruption. The same will happen but having so few showers is far more irritating...Sorry guys, if you had any genuine response, you'd state it here....But you don't have any proper response. I WANT to recommend you but you let your people down. Prove me wrong - Waive the $5 fee for the use other branches - Why should we have to pay extra for having to use other clubs when it's not our fault?
good for 10$ per month. you can use the treadmills and never have to fight to use a machine here. they have showers where people go when the utilities get cut off. they sell apple 30 port device for some use. they have pizza on 1st monday of the month. i mean all you can eat pizza you could eat a whole pizza and they wouldnt get mad and the purple pens
My membership is held in California, but I visited the Boston location while working in Cambridge. It's located in the Downtown Crossing area, so easily accessible by public transit. Not sure about parking, as I was traveling sans vehicle. The gym takes up a couple floors (ground floor and below), and despite being in what seems like a small space, has everything you'd expect in a workout space. I was there pretty early in the am, so it wasn't crowded. Staff was friendly and easily found. Equipment was working and up to date. For the low price, this place is great.
Massage bed & massage chairs are often broken & only one available. Also at least 20% treadmill tv don't work
It is a good place for work out. The price is not bad. The relax machines are great. I feel that the place need more space, but still a nice place for brake the routine specials for the people who work or in my case study in downtown.
One of the worst customer service/sales experiences I've had in a long time. Not sure if the guy at the front desk was having a bad day or something, but he couldn't be bothered to help me when I went in and tried to get some help getting to know the club with a tour to consider for our company.
