After having read a few negative reviews on here, I'm a bit surprised to hear any negative feedback about both the BackBay location as well as SoulCycle in general. It is true that there is competition elsewhere, but I personally find that the SOUL experience is one like no other. I will not minimize the fact that it costs quite a bit to attend, but it seems like the company can afford to charge this much as I have never once been in a class with more than a few open bikes - clearly, there exists an obsession with the experience! It is true that some people can seem a bit cold or "standoffish", but honestly, whatever. I'm there to sweat and yes, get in touch with my soul. Every instructor I've had has been wonderful and vivacious, the playlists spot on, the class going by in what seems like 3 seconds. It can be intimidating for a first timer, but I recommend getting to the studio as early as you can for your first ride, don't be afraid to ask questions, and don't take someone looking at you funny so seriously! I will be a SOUL customer for life, and that says something when there is so much competition elsewhere. Clearly, based on the loyal following, I'm not the only one.
