This studio is a gem.
Good place, friendly teachers, active lessons.

I love the late hours they offer. Great place to practice!

Great place to go for some relaxation after a long day. Classes are always at 6:30, the weekends vary; class starts on time and doors are closed and looked so there's no late comers interrupting your practice. The instructors are amazing, they have all been trained by Glen who is the owner and a wonderful person. He has spent many years traveling practicing and learning the art of yoga and mindfulness. I highly recommend attending one of his fundamental classes. He's in Everett 1-2x a week. Each instructor takes their time in guiding you to achieve your full potential, by providing more then one way to accomplish your individual best. The room is moderately warm, 80-90 degrees. If you like it hotter, you can place your mat under the heat (that's the way I like it). There are complimentary mats, blocks, and straps to barrow and water is sold for a dollar. Of street parking is always available and its $15 per session or $13 for full-time students. Bring water! And enjoy! :)
There are soooo many yoga studios in boston/ cambridge that it is sometimes hard to find something that truly feels like home. I was lead to Sadhana, an inviting, warm studio off Washington Street in the South End, 3 years ago and I have never been the same since. Glen Cunningham is the owner and "master" teacher at Sadhana and Glen is now my favorite instructor and one of my very favorite people too. His genuine focus on the individual and living your yoga practice is never lost in any of his classes. He eloqountly avoids mainstream yoga trends (think music during the entire class when you can't even hear the instructor) and sticks to the fundamentals, the basics of learning yoga (the philosophy, the movements, the living yoga) and moving from your core- truly beautiful.
Over time, this approach really does push your practice to a level you can never reach by sweating through a militant Bikrham like practice (don't get me wrong this style holds value too). Classes are generally heated, but not overly hot- around 95 degrees and adjusted with outdoor temps. Focus is on moving to YOUR breath on YOUR speed. Other teachers here are very good as well. I encourage anyone and everyone at any level to come to Sadhana, you're bound to be committed to the studio indefinitely- on and off the mat.
