Took the Power Burn class. Was hoping it would be more like a Les Mills GRIT class. Would like to have had more cardio and less weights. Core part was okay, but I didn't feel challenged. I did break a sweat in parts of the class, but it was not as as good a workout as I am used to. Probably should have tried the Tabata class. I am very spoiled by the instructors at my local gym, but felt the instructor while full of energy, had room for improvement. Should have described the pyramid before starting them, so we knew how to pace ourselves. When doing an exercise with one arm, instructor should have told us what arm to use each time, as we had no idea how many cycles of the pyramid we were going through. Instructor should have either been doing the reps or walking around the room floor coaching, which means either fixing people's form ( like rear up in the air during planks or people not bracing their core during squats ) or pushing people to work harder. Walking around the room letting out long woooos or saying things of general encouragement is not floor coaching. People really appreciate it when you help them with their form and push them and will return for more classes. Outside of the core track, not once did the instructor remind people to brace their core, or tell people what muscles they should be working, and what they should be feeling muscle-wise. The instructor was overall pretty good, but with a few tweaks ccoul have been top tier. This class is a great workout for the average person, but I would have liked more.
