Went here some time ago. Absolutely beautiful gym. Friendly staff. Areas for all skill levels. Whenever I come back into the area I take my daughter here to climb. Great time

Used to be a member here, and would come on a regular basis before they raised their prices. Their location is pretty good and the gym itself is nice, but monthly membership costs are way high when compared to other locations in the area (as you subsidize all the non-climbing stuff that goes on). More importantly for me, day pass costs are absurd. Its something like $46 a person for my friends whenever they want to climb - at that rate its much cheaper for us to grab an uber and go to any of the other (and more climbing-focused) locations in the area.

Don't trust these guys with your credit card. I cancelled my membership almost a year ago. I kept it in a suspended state for 2 months, then cancelled completely in person. They recently started billing me again no consent or notification at all, and at least on my first contact with them have claimed they can't offer me a "refund", as if I had actually purchased anything. Will update if this gets resolved.

Great all around gym if you're looking for options besides climbing, like yoga, parkour, weights, treadmills, and a few others. Staff is pretty courteous as well.

The place is BIG, so you have a variety of route options and difficulty levels.

The only real barrier for me to a 5-star rating is the price - a single visit can be pricey, especially if you're renting any equipment, so I'd recommend membership or bust.

Very sizable space and great that they have classes here as part of MindBody. Prices have become a bit steep and is super packed in the evenings. LED lighting upgrades have been a downgrade as it's pretty dark when the sun isn't shining overhead.

A fantastic place to learn to climb or to challenge yourself. The variety of routes is incredible, from plenty easy ones with auto-belay to a whole bunch of challenging climbs. They change frequently so it's hard to get bored.

There are also great camps for kids that are a fun way to introduce them to climbing.

Amazing climbing / training facility. Friendly staff and well kept equipment / setup. The routes have good variety and are challenging. Steep membership fee but do keep an eye out for promotions!

I climbed for a while on the very interesting rock climbing course. It was a lot of fun but it was kind of busy and there were a few times that I had to wait to climb (isn't a big deal).

I like the coworking space, but I wish there was more overlooking the walls. This gym has top/lead roping and bouldering, but I felt there could be a more varying spread in types of problems within each level. I did like the large dimension problem and a few others during my last visit. Brooklyn Boulders has gyms in New York City and one in Chicago, so a membership here is useful in other US cities (not west coast); my favorite is the Chicago gym thus far though Somerville has the best class space, is farther from public transit, and has a nice indoor bike rack.

Getting really frustrated of this place. The space is nice but they're very disrespectful of their regular members. Almost every time I arrive some part is closed for some "special event". There's no bouldering for the next three days! At all! What am I paying for??

Didn't love the bouldering routes here, especially for a gym so named. They just didn't flow very well. Didn't try ropes so can't say if they're any better. The amenities here are wonderful, though! Everything you need to basically live at the gym.

Good facilities for both rock climbing and working out. Offers yoga, workout, and climbing classes almost every day. Facilities also include slack-lines, saunas, and a heavy-bag.

Friendly staff, ultra clean facilities, absolutely packed with things happening and a great community; really a better YMCA than an actual gym. Four stars and not five because of the price; at $130 a month ($100 students veterans etc) it is a very expensive "gym". It is not a gym however, because you get so much more than a Gymit. If you want a gym, and just that, go to anywhere else; if you want a community centre with everything then this is your new home.

They offer some great opportunities to get started as a beginner. I took their intro to climbing class (covers bouldering basics), their "learn the ropes" class for top roping, and their V2-V3 class for intermediate bouldering techniques. All the the classes very run well and they are reduced price if you have a membership.

Only complaint is parking can be a bit weird but that's a typical problem for the area

This is the priciest rock climbing gym I've ever been to, but that's ok because THIS PLACE IS ENORMOUS! It's more than a rock climbing gym; it has a weight room, parkour and yoga classes, slack lines, video game consoles...the list goes on and on. It would probably be big and intimidating to a rookie climber, but if you're experienced, it is basically a climbing heaven.

Go here 3-4 times a week. Good gym equipment, great classes (yoga with Laura is great). Decent climbing, although I think Metro Rocks walls and setting are better.

Absolutely the most innovative yoga studio I've been in. They not only allow but encourage doing yoga on the walls, over the thickest cushiest yoga mats I've ever seen in case you lose your balance in a pose sequence. Love it. Adds a whole new dimension to yoga that more studios should explore.

Super expensive for mediocre routes. If you want a full gym and hipster atmosphere this place is great, but not great for serious climbers. The long routes are high which is nice, but they're also incredibly repetitive and very "indoor." Nothing is very interesting.

The staff have also been incredibly rude to me and my friends multiple times, including not believing my friend when he presented proof of pro sponsorship.

Again, if you want classes and a full gym and are only moderately about climbing, this place is probably fine.

Wow. I wish I had taken pictures. This place is amazing!! Regular rock climbing, auto belay, bouldering, wifi mini-cafe, a lounge, a gym, classes and training. WHAT DOESN'T THIS PLACE HAVE!? It's definitely on the pricey side but I think you get more than you're money's worth if it's something you end up dishinh out for.

May 27, 2018 00:06

Awesome! Love the place, love the people (staff and other climbers alike)! A really cool place to bring people from out of town!

Locker rooms have not had scales for the last six months and shower walls were taken down a month ago and not replaced. Definitely not the level of facility maintenance that you would expect for such an expensive location. We got tampons in the men's bathroom though, so I guess that was a higher priority.

Staff seem more concerned with projecting a "chill and inclusive" vibe rather than being professional and doing their jobs. I am prepared to amend this review when I see some effort to repair and replace the things that have broken in the gym, but upon talking to staff recently, I was given the impression that this was not a priority and it was the fault of gym members for not treating facilities well. I was under the impression that I was paying for a high quality gym, and not membership in a grade-school classroom.

(Since posting this review, we have had the scale issue addressed, but the showers still have not had walls replaced)

Generally the most convenient climbing gym for the Cambridge area. Big facility comes paired with high walls. The polished wood walls take some getting used to, but it silk lett you when your footwork is imprecise. The lifting area has a rogue power cage, a handful of bars, and bumper plated. The only caveat is the very high price, which in honestly almost double the farther climbing gyms.

Great low key workout space that is welcoming for beginners and advanced climbers. Fun problems to solve, lots of climbing space for bouldering and belaying. Would recommend their yoga classes. If you need a space to do work, lots of working space.

Minus 1 star for the pricey membership but otherwise full marks: awesome facility, fun routes and group classes, nice amenities, and a friendly community.

Great climbing with super nice staff. They even have some co-working space if you need to finish some work before you climb. There store is awesome, they even have Health-ade kombucha on tap!!!
The events they host here are a ton of fun as well!

This Brooklyn Boulders is not so bad if you live nearby, so you can make the most of a day pass ($30), by going home and resting between climb sessions. I guess if you're not a serious climber, this centre could also be for you, as you are able to play video games or do yoga when the walls are busy. Personally I found the centre's zany extras to be a waste of space, which I wish I didn't have to pay for...

I was shocked by how little space there was to boulder, for the price. Also, the Mez floor is oddly dedicated to two-person climbs, despite there being a shortage of single climber routes. (In particular, there aren't many slab routes). I'd recommend gutting out some of the filler for climbing content.

What is this, like the Ritz of climbing gyms? This gym's got it all. From top rope to bouldering to slack lining to parkour to sauna. This is the nicest climbing gym I've ever been to.

February 18, 2018 14:22

Good options for rock and boulder climbing, along with other fitness options such as cardio and weight training. They also have group exercises and lessons. Usually rentals are not included even with monthly/yearly membership. But they offer a beginner to badass program which is roughly around $230 and includes rentals and beginner lessons. They offer $25 referrals.

Love working out here. Kinda crazy expensive but I think it's worth it. Climbing + yoga + events + co-working space + gym all in one. Can be super busy but if you go during the day time you can have the entire gym to yourself. Some of the staff are super great too. Lots of kids always running around is probably the only negative.

This place is amazing. Tons of courses for all skill levels. There's also a gym, study/work areas, ping pong tables, and tightrope. Really just a great atmosphere for everyone

December 28, 2017 20:11

Such a cool place. Fun to go on a day off or spend a full day and take time off and get work done or use the WiFi and hang out when you get tired. Wish it wasn't so expensive. 30$ for the day and 5$ for shoes. You get tired so fast if you don't go all the time so it ends up just being for a few hours. Tons of fun though, you have to go at least once!

Pretty cool place. My son loves Kids academy a drop off 2 days a week. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The place is clean. Have Nice room with WiFi. Great atmosphere! Parking is a little tricky but you may find. Place near by.

Incredible facility. I could see if you were new to climbing though and didn't have someone guiding you this could be a very intimidating place to learn though. Should definitely take a foundations class. If you live close and want a place to workout or just to chill, this is definitely the spot.

October 23, 2017 07:53

Fantastic facility for every climbing challenge. The staff are friendly, however the place is perpetually busy and subscriptions are a bit pricey.

October 23, 2017 07:53

Great climbs in a very modern gym. They have study rooms and a decent selection of lifting equipment so you can do more then just climb here. Often very busy and one of the most expensive climbing gyms I've been too

October 23, 2017 07:53

Beautifully, well kept rock gym. Large walls with difficult problems for both top roping and bouldering. Gym with benches and running machines. Study rooms and relaxation rooms. 2 slack lines set up. Staff is super friendly and helpful for beta when you need it. Super chill environment. Will deffinitely go back when in the area again.
