I've been a member of Benefitness for over a year. Here's why I love it:
1. Great classes. I pretty much go exclusively for the classes, and in the past year, doing this a couple times a week has led me to build strength, endurance, and lose 10 pounds. The instructors are fantastic; they vary their workouts to make them effective and interesting, and are always concerned with technique so you aren't injured. Most classes aren't ticketed, which allows for flexibility; I like not having to remind myself to sign up for a class a day in advance.
2. Friendly and consistent staff. Unlike other gyms, Benefitness has great staff retention, so you won't have a different trainer every couple weeks. They are personable, friendly, helpful, and SKILLED at what they do. It's clear that each instructor cares about their class, as well as how each individual is improving. They notice when you miss a week or are away. Unsurprisingly, this personal connection motivates me to be there!
3. Solid business practices. The staff retention at Benefitness tells me that their employees are happy; good business practice is important to me, and many gyms don't have these ethics. On the client end, they won't slam you with fees or hidden charges. They're upfront about their rules and totally transparent.
4. Clean. Of course the staff do their part cleaning, but the clients are also big part of this equation. On the whole, everyone is respectful of the shared space and picks up after themselves.
5. The price is right! I just signed up for a year-long membership, which is is a huge deal. They also do 3-month memberships, and sometimes when you sign up for that, you get an additional few months free. Month-to-month memberships are still very fairly priced.
6. All women. I didn't know how big a difference this would make until I started going here. The atmosphere is non-competitive. There are women of all shapes, sizes, ages, and ethnicities.
Wow, I sound like a commercial. Seriously, I can't say enough positive things about Benefitness. Going to a gym with a friendly, clean, and welcoming atmosphere has led me to really use my membership. Isn't that what it's about?
