My experience at UP:
- Hot in the summer.
- Noisy from busy street traffic.
- I felt disrespected by the owner and felt my money was disrespected.
- Generally, does not allow you to schedule classes for two people using the same credit card number.(How they handle families, spouses, children, gifts, those without credit and dates, I do not know. )
- Owner agreed to an exception to the above policy then charged me an unauthorized fee prior to my class without telling me. The website clearly says you'll be charged at the time of service.
- I called to inquire about the charge and was barred from the studio. (never yelled, cursed or even had the opportunity to ask a question.)
- Owner threatened to: slow walk refunding my money, bad mouth me to my instructor and call my credit card company to discredit me. All very odd threats. All very alarming responses to my inquiring about an unauthorized charge (which I had assumed was just a mistake).
- Owner used loaded, dismissive language of a made up "policy/rules" and "my attitude."

Yesterday after experiencing an adventure trip (hiking, swimming and rock climbing) not only did we six enjoy these activities we also reveled in each others company. Dave's excellent organizational skills are a result of his time tested experiences.

Enrolled in a day clinic through UP Adventure to learn how to set up anchor systems for top rope climbing outdoors. Dave and Dustin were amazing instructors, and brought much more experience & knowledge to the table than you'd usually find taking a similar class through your local climbing gym or REI. They were fun, easy to talk to, and made the 8 hour day very enjoyable. The clinic was at Great Falls (VA side), and was filled with continual repetition of what we were learning to truly make it stick, along with varying scenarios we might encounter on our own when setting up on the crag... Highly recommended!

Huge variety of yoga classes, a meditation class, adventuring with big name climbers-unlike any place I've ever seen. Not your average "yoga studio". The space is amazing and the owners seem really chill. Had nothing but good experiences here.
I love being a part of the Up yoga community! The studio is full of warm, welcoming yogis and a wide variety of classes providing a unique yoga experience for everyone.
Beautifully appointed studio with a ton of different classes in the heart of Silver Spring.
Amazing space and wonderful teachers. I felt at home and relaxed from the minute I walked in the doors. Highly recommend.
I love UP! Silver Spring is lucky to have such a great wellness resource! It's like nothing else in the DC Metro area. If I had up in my neighborhood in Brooklyn I would be there multiple times per week. As it is I have to settle for it being my center when I travel to DC. I'm grateful it is there for me at all. Such a wealth of knowledge about Yoga and wellness in one spot. What a resource!
