Very clean and has everything you would need from a gym

I really like this gym. I have been going here for a few months and chose it after trying out many gyms in the area.
I go here for the classes, which are great and never crowded. You don't need to preregister for them, just show up. The instructors are super helpful and make sure that you are doing the exercises correctly (which they can do because of the small class sizes).
I really like the kids club, and it is only a $4 drop in fee. Also parking is great, the garage is right next door and they validate the first two hours.
I grew up in this area, but have not been local for a long time now. I was in town recently and wanted to check out a place to exercise so I decided on checking out this Gold's.
I used a guest pass found online that gives you three days free to try the gym. When I came in the front desk staff seemed a bit confused with my pass. They got the assistant manager to help me and he was a real nice guy named Greg. He was helpful and asked me what I was looking to accomplish and looking for in a gym. His customer service was real good.
The location itself is located in Rockville Town Square so parking can be an issue and I imagine this location can get crowded. The days I went were right after Christmas so it was never too busy. The mens locker room is pretty small, but does boast a sauna.
When I got out onto the floor what really stood out was how old some of the equipment seemed and how run down the walls were. I am not sure if they charge an annual facility fee like so many gyms like to do now a days, but it doesn't seem like they are putting that money back into keeping things fresh and presentable.
The gym has what you would expect from a Gold's Gym like a squat rack, benches, dumbbells, and cardio equipment, but some items are fairly worn. I didn't see any broken machines though.
It is not the cleanest gym I have gone to either, but the bathrooms were clean enough and they did seem well stocked when I washed my hands.
The price I was quoted for membership dues was $39 a month. This seemed pretty high for this gym in particular, but it did give me access to other locations which I am sure are larger. Additionally, if you look at other reviews they mention experiencing charges on their credit cards after they cancel and I had the same experience over seven years ago when I went to Gold's Gym. At this point I would expect them to get paperwork wrong and have to check my credit card statement continuously, so that also makes $39 a month seem a bit high.
I am not sure what gyms in this area are good, but I am not sold on this Gold's location.
I cancelled the membership in person(at rockville ts location) several months ago, but I keep getting billed every month. Upon consulting the golds gym customer service department, I have been advised to scan the cancellation form(it has the cancellation date written on it and the manager's signature) and send it to their e-mail, which I did immediately. NO REFUND. A month later, I get billed another $39.99, contacted the customer service again, NO RESPONSE. this had never happened in my whole entire life, and just this whole process I am going through is so exhausting and frustrating makes me so furious. Probably called/e-mail more than ten times; felt like absolutely no one is there to help. 100% all they want is your money. I had to contact my bank to report fraud and let them take care of this issue. smh AVOID!!!!!!

I love this gym and the staff. I've been working out here with a personal trainer for over a year and have really enjoyed my time here. The staff have always been super nice, the trainers are personable and attentive to their clients, especially the trainer I worked with, Billal. The facilities themselves are good and it's location is very convenient for me as I live in the town square.

I mostly chose this gym because I live very close by and it has a kids club. I honestly can tell you the employees in this location are great. They are encouraging and really nice. The Zumba classes are awesome! The kids club employees are nice and can deal with the the crazyness the kids club sometimes gets. The sauna is a plus wish they had a steam room though. Overall I enjoy my workouts when I go there!
I have been a member of Gold's Gym since 2011. This is by far the worst location I have ever been to. Sol the front desk manager is very rude and approaches members in a nasty manner. The equipment is always broken and there is never enough space for anyone to work out if the gym gets too crowded. They recently hired a new girl at the front desk and she is very kind and understanding. As for the other stuff at the front desk, they are too busy looking at their cell phones to even see when a member is standing there to get checked in or to get parking validated. If you can go another location in the area I suggest that you do!
Gym is good but very nasty locker room and bathroom.. they dont pay attention where it is needed. It always stink
The sales rep darling gave a very rediculas reason for not letting new Maryland residents try out the gym. Horrible sales rep with a bad attitude. Put a bad taste in mouth for golds gym. I've worked a gyms my whole life and never seen something like that.

I appreciate they offer free class at Rockville Town Center. However, today, it is scheduled for a free yoga class at 10:00-11:00, but we waited for 20 minutes and no instructor showed up. I checked with the front desk, but they said the class is not cancelled but gave no explanation for the no show. It just a waste of my Sunday morning time,efforts, and mood. If you can't keep the commitment, don't make it.
