After trying a few different BJJ gyms in the Columbia area, Ground Control ranked #1. Best facility, top-notch instructors, true customer service. Price is the same as or less than the other BJJ gyms, and GC even offers a month to month payment method, which can be hard to find. Best in the area, and great overall.

Awesome gym! The facilities are extremely clean. The locker rooms are fully stocked with anything you might need if you had to shower after your workout and go straight to work. Everyone was exceptionally friendly and overall the atmosphere is great. They have different types of classes depending on what your main goal is. They even have classes for kids! Someone was always at the front desk to answer questions and help me with what I needed to get ready for class. They work with you regardless of your fitness level, push you to do better, and encourage you along the way.

I started training here roughly two months ago with no martial arts experience prior (other than some kids karate classes as a young lad). GCC has been super patient with their instruction and very open to me as a beginner, I was very nervous to try it out, but I was quickly put to ease with patient, safe instruction. As you begin to pick the concepts up you will get more comfortable with the learning pace and other members will take the time to show the moves. You rank as you improve and can show the ability and put in the time. GCC offers ladies and kids classes as well. The mats are clean and there are showers located in the restrooms. They offer month to month contracts and offer free trial classes.

THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!!!!! I have been going to the gym for about a year now and it has proven to be one of the best decisions i have ever made. The staff is friendly and welcoming and there is a family atmosphere about the place that makes anyone who walks in feel welcome. I would recommend this place to anyone looking into MMA or just a fun way to lose some weight.

The best place I've ever trained! JP is an incredible teacher at jujitsu, and good with kids classes too. Coach Wayde really knows what he is doing during the boxing training sessions. Combine that with a gym open all day and student pricing, and you've got yourself the best deal around, second to none.
