This is the only truly awful yoga experience I have ever had, thankfully. I went to a class "taught" by Jessie, who proceeded to shout instuctions a mile a minute, to the point where I at times literally had no idea what she said. She turned on all of the glaring lights in the room and then treated it like a fitness class. She doesn't seem to understand that yoga is more than a series of asanas. The man next to me had done yoga only one other time in his life, and was in need of modifications and blocks to support his larger frame. Jessie made no attempt to help or correct his posture even when walking directly past him. His posture was at times dangerously bad so I ended up whispering to him that he could use a block (which were in the back of the room) and it might be easier for him. He was really grateful for the tip, and I felt really bad that this awful teacher was his intro to yoga, which is a wonderfully enriching discipline. I honestly think Jessie is a terrible representation of what yoga ought to be, and PureOm should have done a better job vetting her. It doesn't speak well of their idea of what yoga is or should be. Obviously I will never return.
I really love the instructor and staff and my problem is with the management.
There are no limitations for reservations, so some time, like today, the small room housed 45+ practitioners, to the point of people have to consciously avoid bumping into each other the whole session. Worsestill, sometimes people who were LATE TO CLASS had no consideration for others, went straight up and put a mat in front you, without thinking about whether she blocked the person behind or not, and that person was actually on time.
Selling more packages to make profits makes sense, but it needs a cap for the class size. This problem also happens on weekends a lot, and it is not just one-time coincidence. I heard that there was supposed to be a heat index in hot yoga rooms, and CONTROLLING CLASS SIZE and make sure not too many people are sweating definitely should be considered.
Beautiful & clean studio. Nice & welcoming staff. So happy I found this gem of a yoga studio!
Best yoga studio in town.
I like all the teachers, they are very nice and friendly.
I love this place!!
