PSA: Around November/December of 2015 I bought a months membership at a special price. I went to a few classes and they were decent. As a Christmas gift from my family, I received about $150 in gift cards to use here at the Yoga Garden. Since then, I have bought multiple items including shirts, harem pants, essential oils, a book, a wind chime, etc. Overall, The Yoga garden has had my business for some time now.
Apart from those purchases with my own money, I bought a yoga pant legging, around November 2015, for about $27. I wore these pants ONE TIME and noticed the seams between the legs were coming undone and you could visibly see through the fabric. As I tried to return or exchange the pants as a faulty product, I was told that Jarrod would have to speak with the owner on what she wanted to do about crediting or refunding me. This has been the only problem I ever had with my purchases, so thinking because I've been a loyal customer I would receive some credit or return favor? That isn't what happened. Months went by, they never got back to me, I was never issued my credit, and my account actually showed a balance.
Recently, I came in to purchase their aromatherapy diffuser for $60. The cashier informed me that I still had a balance on my account. I realized it was the credit I was never issued from 2015. She expressed that she would talk to the manager about the issue and get back to me. She didn't get back to me, I had to call, she said she would have Jarrod call me. Jarrod never called me, I had to call, and when I did he explained that he was busy and would get back to me. He never did.
After using my $60 diffuser for a couple of days, I was not satisfied with the way it operated. Thinking I should just go in person to sort out my account issues and return this diffuser, since I never heard back from them after a few days, all would work out. That's not what happened. I was basically fussed at for wanting to return something when there was essentially nothing wrong with it. However, I wasn't satisfied with the way the product worked for $60 and I felt that I could use my $60 towards a different one at my own choice. My reason for return was compared to buying a car. I was told "if you buy a car knowing how a car operates and then being dissatisfied with the way the car operates you wouldn't return it to the dealership because you knew what kind of car you were getting to begin with." I was told "The same goes for the pants you wanted to return, there was no holes in them when you left and you wore them and then there was something wrong with them." Mind you, I wore them ONCE and they were already ripping AND I'm not buying a car here, its a diffuser. I was told "it seems like everything you buy you want to return." But if I think back, I purchased A LOT more things from them and never wanted to return any of those other things.
The Yoga Garden will never get my business or any of my family's business again. I was issued a refund of $60 for the diffuser. Needless to say, the The Yoga Garden still has $27 of my money from the pants I returned and I have nothing because he was "already working with me on the diffuser." Aside from direct quotes from the manager I felt like I was treated in a disrespectful and demeaning manner. I am extremely dissatisfied with my experience at The Yoga Garden. Overall, I don't feel like this is how a business in retail should operate.
