Very disappointed in this gym. I pay for the membership and can not get in the gym because my credit card # disappears in their system. Is that my issue or something the gym should fix? Imagine, getting ready to go workout and then not being able to get into the gym. This has happened 2x with my membership and also with my girlfriends membership. They do not give you any heads up on if there is any billing issue. There was no issue with my payment! I paid. I love supporting small businesses but when they fail over and over on the same issue (since I spoke to them about this) it is very disappointing.

I signed up for a membership and was told I would receive a full refund on my membership if I cancelled within 24 hours. I proceeded to use the facilities later on that night. I used the elliptical machine and it seemed ineffective. I looked at the calories burned after 4 minutes I had burned less than half of what I burned in 4 minutes on the elliptical at other gyms. I then got on the treadmill and within 10 minutes of running/walking I was sweating bullets because it was over 80 degrees in there and of course they do not provide their members with towels. I called the next day to cancel and was told I had to cancel in person. So I left (during the middle of the workday) to cancel the membership. When I arrived, I was told I would be receiving no refund. I left a message for the owner and he called me back accusing me of lying and saying he refused to cancel the membership. Also, I don't know why people call this a local gym. The owner is Middle Eastern and lives in Ohio. This place is run down, unpleasant, and they have extremely poor customer service.

Great gym. Great location. Great hours. Great equipment. The gym is clean. I feel safe when I'm there, even though it is a 24 hour gym and not always staffed. I love that they have punching bags, with boxing gloves. The only drawback, and the only reason why they don't get five stars, is because of the fitness classes. They offer fitness classes, but the energy is lacking, and with a basic membership you have to pay $5 each class to attend. There is an upgraded membership to attend any class you like ,but it is way more expensive than my LA Fitness membership was, and that included unlimited high energy classes.

Unprofessional management! The old lady that was sitting at the front desk was so rude and ignorant, she might be the owner's wife or something! I will never get a membership with that cooperation( Get Fit 24/7).

Very clean, great staff, large variety of equipment and reasonable rates.

I spent a month deciding which gym I wanted to go to before I walked into Get Fit 24/7. I didn't realize it at the time, but I was greeted by the owner of the establishment the moment I walked in. He allowed me to walk around (without providing my driver's license and other nonsense that I've experienced at other gyms) and check the place out. He talked to me about the gym, the community, and his love of boxing.

There hasn't been an exercise I haven't been able to do yet at this gym. They actually had something NEW to me, which has been really helping one of my current fitness goals. The St. Matthews location has an assisted pull-up/dips machine, which allows me to do the exercise and slowly remove the weight assistance until I can do them unassisted. I'm making fast progress with the aide of this machine, and I'll likely reach the goal within a few months.

So far I haven't been upset by anyone there, and I've had a few polite conversations while I was catching my breath. I feel safe in leaving my belongings on the shelves without locks, and going about my workout. In fact, I've actually left some of my things there and someone was kind enough to turn it into the lost and found box. I've done the same, with an iPod I found near the punching bags. Did I mention they have LOTS OF PUNCHING BAGS?

My last comment will be on what I consider an honest business practice - their pricing. Many of the other gyms I considered before choosing Get Fit 24/7 have a "maintenance fee" or some other ridiculous charge that occurs every so many months. I believe the other gyms did this to deceive people into thinking the monthly cost they charge is cheaper than it is, because if you factor in the repeat extra charges it turns out to be more over time. Get Fit 24/7 doesn't do that. The monthly fee is the monthly fee, that's it. And if you sign up for a year, you get two months free AND waive the sign-up fee.

Go, work out, and enjoy. Really glad I call this place MY gym.
