There is one aspect of this place that earns it a comprehensive 1-star rating - price. Here's the breakdown for you:
Drop-in for one class: $15
Monthly rate: $100
Yearly: $972
Here is the price for another place that offers yoga classes (and a lot more, I'll get to that later), YMCA Northeast:
Monthly rate (single): $57
Monthly rate (family): $93
Let's next consider the difference in what you're getting for your money. YMCA offers a full gym at any of their locations, not just thr Northeast branch. The Northeast branch has an indoor lap pool, and an optional waterpark if you have kids (or just like fun, like me). They offer yoga classes at multiple times, which I can usually find to fit them into my tight schedule (2 hours a day of weightlifting plus a full-time iob).
What do you get for your money at Yoga East? Just yoga classes. No gym equipment, no pools, or other kind of fitness. Just yoga.
So ask yourself, what's your money worth to you? I don't work for YMCA. I'm just a man with a big mouth who can do math and likes to respect his wallet leg.
EDIT: Response to the response I received from the facility.
2/19/18.
To the owner who responded to me, please use the "Enter" key on your keyboard after 3-4 sentences. I know 9 year old children who know how to structure paragraphs better than what you've done here. I'm not trying to be insulting, I would just expect someone as a business owner to have this fundamental skill in their possession.
I am not asking you to be all things for all people, I'm pointing out a mathematical absurdity inherent in your pricing. I'm glad you've had the opportunity to become as accredited, visit India, etc. but that's not addressing the point: your prices are insane. You're done what I would expect most business owners to do and tell everyone in your response about all that you do offer. The fact remains, however, what you're charging just isn't reasonable for most people to be able to afford.
You actually charge $15 for a one-time, first time experience. But I could take my driver's license, go to a YMCA any day of the week and workout/swim/take a class just to try them out FOR FREE. Not just one class, but I could try out everything they offer. You don't even do that. I don't care if you're certified by the last 4 presidents, $100 monthly charge when all you can do is yoga is ridiculous.
