We have been going to Genesis since before it was Genesis. We often say we don't know what we would do if we didn't have it. We have used the equipment, trainers, massage therapist, you name it but our true love is group fitness classes. We go to the early 5 AM classes which require great effort but when you make it it's worth it. We love all of our instructors who manage to make it so much fun, Angie, Cherisse, Ana, Kinsey and many others over the years. If you have been too shy to try it, let that go and get in there you will be glad you did.
The Therapy Pools Need to be cleaned after Family weekends. Today we found a toy rocket in the bottom of the Pool not very safe for elderly people use this pool through out the week. Plus it's a disappointing that no one knows how to keep it safe and clean. Plus the water temperature is not what set for. Plus couldn't see the bottom of the pool. I would like to continue to use the place. But safety concerns should be addressed in the right reasons. Showers need to have Slip Water mats when coming out of showers and safety rails on the walls to prevent falling on the floors. When I fell earlier this last year I was told that this things would be in place and still till today nothing has happened. If you're building new Health Club shouldn't there be safety measures in place in all Health Clubs even new and old.
I have been going to the West Genesis for over 10 years and have always been happy with their accommodations and staff. The gym is clean and provides a variety of machines and classes. The group exercise classes are fun and challenging with very knowledgeable instructors. Yoga classes are very good and the instructors provide options to fit individual abilities.
My husband & I have been members since June 2019. Had a great trainer, enjoyed water classes and have an excellent yoga and stretch class instructor. Really improved our strength and fitness. We work out in the gym 2 to 3 X's/wk. Really like the facility. Have every activity most people want. It is clean, pleasant and staff is very friendly and helpful
My daughter purchased a membership. She was robbed and did not have the money to continue. They told her the price of the cancellation fee for her contract, but she did not have the money at the time. She was told to just pay 5 a month and when she had the cancellation fee, come in to pay it. Now she has the money but they want to tack on the back regular fee's to the cancellation fee. She did not try to use the gym. Now they have made it impossible for her to cancel. This is so sad to tell people one thing, then turn around and take advantage of them.
My massage therapist Gina is so amazingly good, just from a few comments on my everyday activities she was able to define, and specifically tackle each point of extreme pain my back and deap tissue issues in my legs and neck. I trust her whole heartedly with preserving and prolonging my "feel good" days. Two huge thumbs up with 5 star recommendations

EDIT - Jose from the corporate office was able to assist in the matter, i'm walking away from this experience with less frustration solely because of his help, however the other lady I talked to on the phone still was one of the worst parts of this experience.
if you want to cancel your membership they will forgot to inform you that you need to show up in person to sign a 30 day cancellation notice.
My old gym got bought out by them and when I talked to them in May i told them i didn't want to continue when my contract was done. not once was i told i had to come in and sign a piece of paper for a 30 day cancellation.
they charged me the next month after the old contract was done and refuse to give a refund citing "policy" because they know they need to grab every dollar they possibly can from people who never wanted to use them as a gym in the first place.

Coach Regis Fox is a great tennis instructor! He's polite, consistent, professional and very motivational with his students. Facility is large, with many choices for equipment. Parking lot is huge, plenty of routes in/out.
The facilities are great. Most faculty members are nice in passing. I have no problem with Genesis besides the sales representatives who lie about the contract they're giving you.
I initially signed a one-year contract last February. I went in to sign the paperwork to end my contract beforehand, so I wouldn't get charged monthly afterwards.
I learned that the original sales rep. lied about my contract.
When I called the original Genesis, another sales rep. said the "deal" the rep gave me was a "free six months off of a two year contract, so then things are prorated into my monthly payments." I am baffled that the rep lied about my contract.
BEWARE: I signed my contract online. If you decide to get a membership here, ask your sales rep to write things down on paper for you before signing anything electronically. Also, they don't send you any paperwork unless you ask.
The lady working on the east side that I initially talked to said that this sales rep. lied about her contract as well when she signed hers.
Hope the rest of the sales reps aren't liars as well.
Andrew Held and his team of trainers do a great job engaging club members in their personal fitness journey. Some gyms are only focused on signing up endless numbers of members with the hopes that they will pay dues and rarely frequent their establishments. Not Genesis! The training staff and fitness instructors work hard to engage members and help them achieve fitness goals... And keep them active and coming back! Even with this goal of maintaining high levels of utilization, I have never had to wait for a piece of equipment or fight for weights (unlike past experiences at other gyms.)
I really like this gym. The option of child care is what made me choose Genesis. Very convenient for a mom with two little ones! I love the option of group classes and personal training. The staff is very friendly. My only complaints would be that the membership price is pretty steep and nobody pays the same price and maintenance of the equipment is lacking.
I love my gym! They have the best group fitness classes in town! The instructors are highly motivating and encouraging. The equipment is top of the line! My only complaint is that the facilities sometimes need maintenance, or fixing, and that doesn't always happen in a timely manner, if ever.
Club is nice and the staff below management are good. As for the rest I would you suggest you look at every poor review on yelp, google etc and believe them. This company's business practices are despicable. When you join it is high pressure sales. When you want to leave they do everything they can to make that difficult and to keep getting money from you for as long a possible. I called several times over several weeks and was told repeatedly that a manager would call me back. They did not for several weeks and then when I finally spoke to the manager he effectively told me I was a liar when I said that I had called over the previous 2 weeks. When I asked for contact details of the owner, his manager or a complaints dept he flat refused. Mine is not the worst experience I've heard of ......but it was bad enough to make me believe all the others?
Avoid this club .....there are plenty of other gyms around that actually care about people and will treat you as a real person.
This is my favorite club to workout at! All of the Genesis locations are great, but this one has the most equipment available out of the locations in my area of town. Besides top-notch weight room equipment, they have a basketball court, indoor Olympic size pool, tennis courts, an excellent nursery, and more. They have great group fitness classes, including classes that are fun for the kids!
I am soooooo sick and tired of the lockers not being available to club members because people are locking up the lockers so no one else can get in to use! This happens all to frequently! This morning I arrived and was the only member present at the facility. This was around 3:30 am. When I went to the locker I normally use, it was locked. I looked around and there were 23/25 lockers locked in that particular pod! Unbelievable! I notified the attendant, but he could Not find key to open locker. I had to go to a completely different section to find an open locker. This has gone on far to long! Needs to be addressed immediately! On another occasion, Cameron started opening all lockers that should not have been locked. There was a locker there in particular that the member had constructed a second home! I kid you not! Please have someone enforce this so all lockers that s/b available to members, are indeed available. At Anytime Fitness, they would actually take metal snips and cut in half the lock that the member had left on there overnight. That's not possible here, but at least have someone check and unlock the lockers that are just sitting there to be used by only one person and no one else.
This is not the main genesis that I go to because I don't live on the west side, but the pickup basketball and friendly staff has me going out of my way to be there. Just like the other Genesis facilities, up to date and maintained very well! Highly recommend checking out any of the facilities!
