Horrible customer service! Worst contract, not possible to cancel. They also lied when I signed up, said I can use all their facilities in Topeka, was not true, only one which was really far from my home. Now they are closed due to Covid-19 but still taking money from my account every month, last was April 15th. Never return calls. I'm not using this gym for 1,5 year now, tried to cancel a few times, last time 6 month ago, not possible. Tried to call number listed on main website, they are in another state and not helping too. It's just a racket.
I've heard nothing but horror stories about GreatLife contracts, but I tried reaching out since they're the only place in town near me with a pool. I tried twice and never received a response.
This is the absolute best location out of all the locations at Greatlife ever in the world ever.
Excellent place to work-out, swim, & golf. Many amenities. Truly worth the coin!
I'm a very disappointed member. I paid for a swim membership and was very happy to see that I could swim in the lap pool after work at 4:00 PM. However, a few months later, without any notice at all, that changed. The lap pool is closed to members every day from 3:30 to 5:30 PM. I won't be able to swim at all anymore except on the weekends. Nor do I have any recourse for a refund. In addition the attitude of the staff was very cavalier, and no one was able to tell me where or who to address my concerns to.
New equipment, friendly staff, heated pool, and a lot of group fitness class options with enthusiastic and knowledgeable instructors. The new membership tiers are fair and easy to understand. Keep in mind your contract is valid until March 31st no matter when you join.

Great gym! New equipment, great pool, jacuzzi, wet and dry saunas, massage bed and so much more for only 15 per month! Love this place, I've visited 3 other gyms in Topeka and they can't beat Great Life!

Great place to workout
Joyful, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested staff at every level. Some older machines in most areas, but they are replacing pretty rapidly. Machine weights, free weights, treadmills, steppers, ellipticals, all available.
One of my favorite features is the Hydro Massage.

Front desk was extremely friendly and very, very helpful! Facility was clean and equipment looked to be in good condition. Also briefly met with a Zuma instructor who was enthusiastic, encouraging and knowlegable. I highly recommend!
I go to Great Life for their aerobics class "Cardio Blast." Great instructor. Good custodial staff. Locker room is clean. Front desk staff is friendly and helpful. I rarely use them but the machines are fairly new and popular. The weight room is heavily used.
Blatantly dishonest. I canceled my membership by submitting the required paperwork well in advance of the annual date, several months later I noticed I was still being billed and called to inquire about it. They said - shocker - that they never received the paperwork and thus would be charged for another FULL YEAR. No exceptions. IF you consider using this gym, keep every bit of your paperwork, because you will need it for the record when they inevitably try to pull a fast one on you.
The gym itself is atrocious, limited equipment and what they do have is in disrepair, dirty locker rooms, aging and leaking ceilings. Literally zero redeeming qualities. Another lousy gym with deceptive practices and slimy management that is more concerned about bilking money than improving their facilities or even keeping them hygienic. If there is any other option in your area, steer clear of this trash pile.
No frills gym with good overall equipment. Steam room is nice feature. Also indoor pool is great in winter with kids.
GREAT Life: Sweating with the oldies!
Of course, I am not talking about music. You too can sign a year long contract to work out like it's 1992, because that's when almost all their equipment was manufactured. Keep in mind, you do not get to enjoy this equipment at its prime. No siree! You get equipment that is worn out, with fraying cables, cracking welds, rusting cardio machines, bent barbells and dangerously out of tolerance equipment.
There's nothing that entertains me more than getting an opportunity to purchase equipment and bring it into the gym I am paying a membership because they WON'T upgrade their stuff!
Do you want to learn a new trade? Doesn't matter. You will at GREAT life. You will learn how to maintain and fix gym equipment DAILY. But that's not all!
Do you enjoy doing cardio during a bulking work out routine? Great! Because we at GREAT life have decided to put half of our dumbbells upstairs, and half of it down because the floor is too weak to handle the weight of a GYM. Of course we could reinforce the floor or renovate the basement so there is enough room downstairs to accommodate the free weights, but that would cost money! We clearly are not going to do THAT!
When we do "fix" something it will be out of service for over a month, because time off from working a particular body part allows you to achieve higher gains!
So, if you want a gym like this come see us at GREAT life!
