Since the rebrand and upgrade, I must say the equipment is excellent, this place has a top range of kit for free weight training, machine and cardio - can't fault it. The only downside really is that the shower area is a bit dated and doesn't look great, could do with a bit of investment to call the facility "Luxury". They also have a good range of boxing equipment but you have to join the Combo6 classes to be able to use most of it, although there is a single heavy bag which is open access. It would be good to allow members to use all of the boxing equipment, without being restricted to the Combo6 classes.
It is now the ATHLETIC CLUB OF OLATHE! THE UPGRADED FACILITY IS FANTASTIC! A SPECIAL RECOGNITION TO ANNE DEWITZ, BECAUSE UNDER HER HELP, SHE HAS CHANGED MY LIFE.....FOREVER !
Love this gym. The renovations are nice. Wish they had more free weights, but it is still a great gym. Wonderful daycare for the kids.
They call "luxury"! Just new machines, paint and lockers. Steam showers, bathroom, showers are still nasty, dirty, smells horrible!!! I can't see the luxury! plus members we had few privers rooms for members, to dress, we are so many members, that we need that privacy because we don't want to dressing in front of others, but now is only for employees! I'm sorry! Whose are paying for the membership?
Went there for a party and the kids had a blast
There is something to be said about a great vibe of a place. You can't catch it with a photo, so I'm here to tell you that PLF in Olathe is awesome. Such a feeling of self-empowerment. Most of the people seem to want to be there. Could be the Free WiFi, towel service included, & indoor and outdoor pool? IDK, what's not to like?
Unclean and outdated. Feels trashy compared to the OP location. Equipment is often somewhat dangerous due to parts falling off. Such as the dumbbell plates falling off while using them. Other complaints I have is that the water and ice area is moldy. Locker and steam rooms smell like mold. Carpet should be torn out of the facility and replaced with something other than a bacteria breeding ground.

Had a membership with 24 Hour Fitness for years. Was not impressed with the transition to Genesis Health Club and left the day my contract expired. Stopped in here to check them out. Very impressed with what this facility has to offer. Pefect spot if you want to train solo or bring the whole family. Weight training area is always clean and all of the equipment works.

Pretty outdated for the price they charge, not too clean either. Dust everywhere, mildew smelling carpet in the locker room. Moldy water and ice chute area, including moldy wood rot. Broken equipment. No preventative maintenance is done either. This gym is awful. They'll try to sell you it as high quality, in reality it's quite the opposite. It takes weeks for anything to be fixed. Definitely the lowest quality prairie life fitness center out there. I can see the membership being worth it for locations outside of olathe. Poor quality. Low quality. Expensive. Bad. Poor. Unclean. Outdated.

My son loves this place. It has sauna and steam room in each locker room
No deadlift platforms, all the barbells are different diameters for some reason (not like male/female bars, like standard 45 lb bars and then other much thicker 45 lb bars), equipment is old, rusty and smelly. Only 1 squat rack and overpriced.
Better off saving your money and buying your own equipment.

Disgusting gym with absolutely no sense of hygiene. The locker rooms are heinous to the point of not ever wanting to ever use them. The common areas are straight out of the 90s with old saggy disgusting carpet that's never vacuumed. The machines are all at least 10 years old and the rooms are always so awful smelling my dog wouldn't step foot in them. AND to top it all of the workers are all extremely rude and have no Willingness to help you with any sort of question. They also will charge you a massive cancellation fee that they sneak into the contract with no upfront explanation of it. STAY AS FAR AWAY AS HUMANLY POSSIBLE FROM THIS GOD FORSAKEN HELL HOLE.
The life guard told my son that he can't swim in the shorts he wore today. These are shorts that they wear to gym class and the public pool. But there's no sign or anything saying that he can't, he even said it's the last time that he can wear those shorts to the pool. My kids don't feel comfortable going there anymore.
Great gym with a ton of different equipment, and indoor track, a swimming pool/ hot tub, raquetball and basketball courts, this gym has it all. The space is huge so you never really have ro worry about being stared at by a bunch of gym rats while you work out, it feels private.

This place has very friendly and helpful staff and members. A large and wide variety of cardio and weight lifting equipment, indoor and outdoor olympic sized swimming pools, indoor 1/10th mile running track, showers, locker rooms with soap and towels provided, indoor basketball courts, a cafeteria, and im sure there is more as I continue to explore! The price is comparable to smaller gyms in the area but offer so much less compared to this place. This gym was an incredible find for me, definitely worth at least a tour for anyone looking for a good gym. Also, this place can get busy but so far I have not run into the "waiting for equipment" game yet.
I've been using the club for about a year now. I appreciate that the facilities are clean, staff is friendly and the machines are all in good working order. Indoor pool and in the summer, a outdoor pool.
