If you have any preconceived notion, or image of a gym stereotype, it will most likely fit LA fitness. They do have a great facility, with a vast collection of machines and amenities. However, the environment is intimidating and demeaning, and the training staff have an unconscionable lack of ethics.
When I first started with LA fitness Noblesville, I was given a tour of an impressive facility and offered a free training session to help me outline a fitness plan. The trainer was knowledgeable, helped me identify problems with my form, and was generally supportive.
After the training session we sat down and discussed options for further sessions. While discussing this we went over prices for different plans and what each plan offered. I expressed some interest in a particular plan and started to discuss how I would pay for that plan.
It was explained that all plans were structured with an upfront fee rather than all monthly payments. When I said that I would like to take a day or two and think it over, I was informed that my account had already been charged the upfront fee.
I had not given them permission to charge my account in any way, shape or form. It took me several days and the threat of retaining a lawyer to have my money returned.
Do yourself a favor, and find another gym. This facility is not for the average Joe or Jane. Only those with a type A personality and a locker room mentality have any chance of success at LA fitness.
