Nice folks, newish equipment, scrupulously clean, great location. Want a low-pressure workout admist a great diversity of people (young, old, black, brown, white, white collar, blue collar, English speaker, Spanish speaker, native and foreign born)? If so, this is your place.

Nice gym with new, clean facilities and friendly staff. It is small (though you get admission to the bigger Y in Lafayette too, if you want things like a pool), but I have never had to wait for an elliptical or bike, and they have a full weight training machine circuit. The convenient location is the biggest reason I signed up. Most users seem to be downtown office workers, so it is not one of those uber-fit gym scenes (which can be awkward if you're like me and can never remember how to set up the weight machines!!!). It is not a super-fancy gym, but they do provide towels and hair dryers, and the showers are really clean.
It's a little hard to find the first time, so be sure to ask around and look for signs posted in the building. Awesome location to exercise for the downtown pedestrian. Parking garage is attached to building. Small capacity gym, but membership provides access to both downtown and 18th street locations.
Group fitness classes here are sparse, but they are adding more as the demand increases. I highly recommend trying the group classes, no matter your level of fitness.
The group classes are so much fun. This location is relatively small though.
