This place is so great that I do not know where to start...it has become a huge part of our routine and we are so happy to have found it. Needless to say, this review is long overdue. A couple of highlights:

-Amazing staff and management who really cares about inclusion and community. Staff makes the gym welcoming and safe for all climbers, particularly those who are new to the sport. In two years, I have never been rubbed the wrong way by a staff member. Management has continued to focus on making climbing available to a wide audience, including monthly adaptive climbing for differently abled individuals. There is even a new monthly "She Sends" group which offers fantastic instruction (really, I'm a bit jealous) to women across a wide range of skills.

-Route setters do an awesome job of keeping the walls fresh, clean, and exciting. Holds are changed out before they become worn down or slick (ew!). New holds are bought every months to keep things fresh. Routes range from 5.6-5.13b and V0-V9 with a healthy mix for all levels (generally concentrated in the 5.10-5.11 intermediate levels). Easily the best roped climbing in the region, with lots of top rope climbing and really great routes for new or experienced lead climbers.

-Management invests in facility maintenance. The place is very clean for a climbing gym. Bathrooms are cleaned daily, unlike certain other gyms that I have been to where they are atrocious.

-Free strength and yoga classes multiple evenings per week. Great instructors who tailor workouts to increase your climbing fitness and decrease injury risk. Full strength training area with cardio, racks, weights, dumbells, hangboards, and everything you need to push to the next level of climbing fitness. For the more advanced, there is also a campus board and a new Tension Board.

-Extremely welcoming and diverse climbing community. The strongest people in the gym regularly help out new climbers to achieve their potential. Never have I felt judged for struggling on routes at or above my skill level. Everyone is approachable and we have made lots of new friends in the gym. Member appreciation events and biannual climbing competitions are fantastic avenues to connect with the broader community.

Had a great time climbing here. The staff was friendly and welcoming. They even have free coffee and ping pong, what else could you ask for.

The staff were all nice and helpful for our birthday party and the kids loved it of course

Started climbing here at the new year for some good exercise activity that didn't involve running. This place will quickly show even fit people how weak they are. I highly recommend it, and can't speak highly enough of the staff as they are all very accommodating and eager to teach. The difficulties range from beginner to climbing up Everest backwards with one hand. The bouldering is solid and they offer classes for many things climbing and non climbing related. Members get the benefit of climbing anytime they are open and can attend any of the classes for free. You can rent all of the gear you need here but if it's going to become a hobby I would recommend just purchasing it.

Amazing gym! In addition to the bouldering, top roping, and lead climbing, they have:

* Awesome people - I always felt welcome here and made several new friends.
* Ping pong table - as a beginner I was always here after my forearms gave out
* Cushioned floors - gives that extra feeling of safety, especially when I was learning to lead. The bouldering landing area is also softer than most gyms I've been to.
* Free coffee and tea - short-term climbing boost!
* Workout area - long-term climbing boost!
* Retail area with drinks, chalk, shirts, guidebooks, and gear.
* Routes that are color-coded - much preferred over tape.

Some perks I've noticed but haven't used or used much:
* The kid/party area looks pretty fun with some secret passages.
* There are lockers if you're worried about your stuff, but I always just use the cubbies.
* Shower (I think?)
* Crack climbing
* Lots of interesting classes - I definitely need to take advantage of these more.

Overall a wonderful gym and community!

Walk in for the first time and everyone acts like they have known you for years. Well taken care of gym, friendly and helpful staff, awesome community

Best climbing gym I've ever been to. I've been coming for a while but I felt moved to write a review after going to a different climbing gym that had a similar rating on Google. Epic blows it out of the water. The other gym was nothing comparatively.

-The staff here is friendly and welcoming. They make you feel like part of a community and not just a customer. They walk you through the gym and explain how everything works when it's your first time there.
-The energy is really positive so everyone else is always friendly. You can make friends with anyone almost instantly.
-There's a great bouldering wall with plenty of problems for several people to be on the wall at once. Some problems top out if you're into that.
-There are 5 auto belays so if you come alone you can boulder and top rope. There are several routes ranging from 5.7-5.12 on the auto belays as well so any level of climber can enjoy that.
-Free coffee and tea (and that one time pancakes)
-There's a ping pong table
-Workout equipment upstairs (treadmills, dead lift, free weights, hang boards, etc)
-Lead walls are huge.
-Awesome route setters.
-Crag wall
-One time there was a bunny there

Look, the list of positives goes on and on and I can't really think of any negatives so there's that. Great gym. Great people. I love it here.

This is an excellent climbing gym. First, the staff was very helpful and friendly. The whole atmosphere was fantastic. As for how the gym is run, the routes were easily identifiable and fairly graded from easy to expert. Anyone can have a good climb here. The gym is set up for top-roping and lead climbing so if you need to practice lead technique, it's the place to go. I've been to many climbing gyms and epic is my favorite so far. In addition to the walls, there is a great workout section dedicated to climbing specific exercises. I HIGHLY recommend for anyone looking to improve or just have a great time.

I rock climbed at multiple gyms here and there, but not enough to feel comfortable belaying without a quick review. I went to this gym and I ask if they teach you how and the front desk guy, lets call him Kevin, informed me they dont teach that except on special days. I told him Iv done this plenty of times it would take like 5 mins just to review everything. He still said no so we were limited to bouldering and the very few auto belays.

So if you dont have climbing experience dont go here go to a better gym that one either teaches you to belay or two go to a gym that has more auto belays. disappointed in this experience.

Other gyms such as Hoosier Heights

One of my favorite climbing gyms that never disappoints me. Incredibly friendly staff, patrons, and overall high quality routes.

I went here with my brother and had a blast!! This was certainly a "Epic" place to go to! I even told friends and others to come here. It's really fun! This should be 10/10

;)

Supper clean and awesome walls. We where in Indy over thanksgiving and went with some friends. And was way nicer than the gym back home. Would love a gym like this where we are from

This place was amazing.

We brought a group of 8 with 4 kids to blow off some steam on a Saturday afternoon. The staff were so friendly and helpful. They spent a lot of one on one time with the kids as they were getting used to the equipment and the walls.

The place was full and had some very serious climbers and others that were just there for a good time. For the most part, as long as you're respectful of the space, there are no issues.

The walls, ropes and the space was really well maintained. We had an amazing time on the epic walls.

The community and staff here are what make it. Yes, they have the newest and nicest facility in Indy. Yes they have a great variety of routes and features. Yes, they have good classes but the people really make it. At first I just came in and did my own thing but once I took the time to meet new people it suddenly opened up a whole new world. Can't recommend the gym highly enough.
