Vibe is a fantastic studio with incredible instructors, tons of varied classes daily, and great community involvement! From slow-flow to sculpt classes you can either sweat through your mat or find your zen. I'm so thankful I found Vibe!
All of the instructors and staff I have interacted with at Vibe are welcoming and knowledgeable. I like the variety of classes (some are more of a workout and other are meditative and restorative) and that they offer community classes both in and out of the studio. Great place!
I just finished up with the new customer unlimited yoga for a month deal, and I have a lot of thoughts on Vibe.
The facility is very nice inside, despite the appearance and the location of the building, which I was initially nervous about. The rooms are clean and well maintained, and community props are in good shape.
This studio offers a lot of classes each day, the most classes offered of any studio I've attended in the past nine years I've practiced. My biggest complaint with the schedule is that there is an over abundance of hot classes. I understand that this is likely due to customer demand. But if I want to take a mid-day break to do yoga, there are very few unheated classes or classes that wouldn't leave me drenched in sweat. I would end up taking off two hours by the time I went to yoga, showered, and got turned around. That's a big chunk of my work day to lose.
As far as instructors and teaching style, it was kind of hit or miss for me. I really liked Sarah P, Michelle, and Liz (I think?) With the other instructors, I felt that the classes were solely for a workout experience and severely lacked a spiritual element.
When it came to difficulty level, I felt that most of the classes, despite being labeled intermediate or for all levels, lacked instruction for newer or out of practice yogis. The instructions often gave direction for medium difficulty, rather than starting with the basics and working into modifications to make the poses more advanced. I kept waiting and looking for a class I could bring my husband to for his first ever yoga class, but never found a class I thought would give him a positive first experience. I still don't feel this is a good place for anyone without 1-3 years of prior experience.
I felt a lot of the instruction lacked concentration on correcting form, and never had an instructor correct or help me adjust my positions. All in all, I felt the learning experience was non-existent, the human connection was lacking, and the instruction and lack of modifications was dangerous at times--I experienced a quad injury after attending a Hot Sculpt class, thinking it was a heated yoga class, not a 60 minute HIIT workout in a 90+ degree room. My friend experienced a torn muscle in her neck/shoulder only a week or two prior to that after attending the same Hot Sculpt class. It is easiest to injure yourself in hot classes, especially when weights are involved. Based on my experience with that class, I really think it is irresponsible and unsafe.
The clientele is primarily made up of young women who are IU students. There's a lot of lululemon--the studio sells a lot of lululemon merchandise and if you're attending hot classes, it is not uncommon to have half of the class working out in their lululemon sports bras and leggings. It starts feeling a little like a weights gym, and they're coming to look at themselves workout in front of a mirror. Which is not what yoga is about. It's not a competition, but somehow it frequently feels like a competition at this studio-- who has the best clothes, the best mat, the right water bottle, the best body, the best balance, etc. It feels like the classes are workout oriented because that's what most of the clientele wants. They want the Americanized yoga, and want to cut off all the Hindu, spiritual roots. And that's not what I'm about.
All of those things being said, I was excited to have figured out the classes and instructors that I felt were more in line with what I wanted. When I went to sign up for a ten class pass I was BLOWN AWAY by the pricing. I have never been to a studio that charged so much. I have had life changing experiences with my instructors who offered a lot more of their love and knowledge. One of the best classes I've been to was a couple's class I took with my mom that capped out at ten people. The class was $10. If this studio charged half the price, it still would be a stretch for me as far as quality of service I was getting for my money. This was a very disappointing experience for me.
A safe place to heal, grow, and learn about yoga. The instructors and staff truly care about what they do. Vibe Yoga is the best yoga studio in town no doubt about it. The space is calming and meditative. I am so grateful for the community and support the studio has crafted. They have something for everyone, and the classes have great quality. They are the most kind group of people, and anyone would be welcomed to find a place for their mat at Vibe. I would not practice anywhere else.
Lovely studio, wonderful teachers, and warm community!

I have loved attending hot yoga & their hot sculpt class. As a new resident to the Bloomington community, I was anxious to find a hot yoga studio that worked for me and my needs. I love the variety of classes Vibe offers (hot sculpt with Lexi has kicked my butt every time) and the friendly staff. I highly recommend!

I went to vibe for the first time a few weeks ago for the barre class. I almost left at first because I felt funny going by myself, but I'm so glad I didn't! The instructor was amazing and friendly, as were the other people in the class. This was an amazing workout, and I was very sore for 3 days lol. Try it!! Great place

Hands down the most unpretentious fitness studio I've ever been to. Teachers are extremely welcoming to new students and classes are taught in a way that students at all levels can understand. Barre and Hot Sculpt classes are a great workout, sure to make you sore the next day. And, some classes are just $5! Overall amazing studio!
Vibe is more than just a yoga studio, it's an inclusive community of some of the more open and fun-loving people in Bloomington. When I first went to the studio I was pretty nervous because I had never done yoga and was really out of shape. As an ex-collegiate athlete I was looking for something that would give me a good workout but that would also increase my energy level, not leave me feeling drained at the end of the week. I was so relieved when I got a personal welcome and a lot of help getting used to a new way of engaging with physical activity. Now, almost a year later, I can safely say that my experience at Vibe has transformed my life. I would recommend the studio to any one of any age... they have something for everyone!
Good vibes.
I went to Vibe when I tried yoga for the first time. I chose a heated class which was interesting. To get to the point, this is the best place for yoga as far as I'm concerned.
I have practiced yoga at Vibe for over 3 years now. The studio has a wide range of levels of classes taught by its large staff and offers many workshops by top visiting instructors. Owner Laura Patterson is one of the best teachers of vinyasa yoga in the Midwest, and I particularly recommend her advanced-intermediate classes for those with some yoga experience.
Vibe Yoga is so welcoming and friendly! Diverse class offerings, a lovely wellness center for massage and body work, and really nice retail section where I get accessories, clothes, and books. I appreciate the pleasant vibe at Vibe.
