Tried Lifetime for a bit, happy to be back at the YMCA. Great staff, transparent membership fees, and a good organization.

I'm torn. We use the YMCA After School program during the school year at my daughter's elementary school and the staff that runs that program is amazing and we love it.
Because of that we signed my daughter up for summer programs being offered that YMCA unfortunately decided to cancel. Ever since we got the call saying they were cancelling the program it has been a huge headache to get our payment refunded (we have still not been refunded). Each person we talk to at this location gives us a different story about our refund - from that it was never put in for, saying there is no record of a refund ever being started on my account, to telling us dates we will "for sure" have the refund by (spoiler: the dates came and went with no refund), to blaming it on their billing department "dropping the ball." I have been promised our refund will be "rushed" by multiple staff members and - shocker - the rushed refund never comes. AND I've been getting emails every single day "reminding" us that the program is coming up and telling us to make sure to attend and how much fun it'll be ... for the program they cancelled.
From these interactions it's clear that this location is very disorganized and not well run. We will not be signing up for programs directly through this location ever again and unless you're cool with them hanging onto 300+ of your dollars for weeks on end with no answers or urgency, I suggest you don't either.
Make you run a lot at every summer y sports camp 5 times in 80 to 100 degree days it should be called WHY SPORTS CAMP

There shower drain in men's locker room has hair on the drain daily it gets cleaned in the morning but it always comes back. Locker room gets trashed by kids. One of the shower head's is missing a piece on it so there isn't enough water coming out.
My family has been going here on and off for 30+ years. The staff is always at least pleasant and if YOU are friendly towards them, I've never seen them fail to be friendly to YOU. We always find programs for all ages.

Sub par in about every way but I guess you get what you pay for. Probably would be excellent place to stay if Naperville ever has a zombie apocalypse but else it is pretty old and dated compared to other places around.
