This place is really clean and safe. Also staff is amazing friendly, helpful and polite. I am really satisfied with this place and I would recommend others to join.

This location is the best! I have been to other ones and I always come back here because the people are so nice and they really care about their customers. I love coming here!

Love my trainer Moe! Always nice and conscientious of the exercises he assigns the class. He is aware of my former injuries that sometimes they can hold me back, but he doesn't push which is great. I also love that he makes us believe in ourselves that gives us the motivation to do it! 2020 Goals people JOIN!

I have been to many planet fitness locations in several states. The Des Plaines location is great. Clean, friendly staff, and the machines work. Hey have tanning and massage chairs but no hydro massage beds. The weekend is a good time to go since there are fewer people but even during the busiest times you can find a treadmill or a place to lift.

Very small. No stretching cage or bar. No PF 360. No wonder this place is dead. And not enough mirrors. The entire wall under the 'welcome to...' sign should be lined with mirrors. How is someone supposed to watch for proper form without mirrors.

Great open floor plan & layout with high ceilings. Staff is always nice with a smile. This place is better than clubs that cost 3x as much.

I use to come here when they first opened and enjoyed it. Now I usually go to a different location, coming to this one only every now and then, however am usually reminded why I tend to avoid this location. Literally almost all of the employees are rude and wont even smile or acknowledge you, it seems like a requirement to work here.
When I bring a guest, occasionally I leave 10-15 min before my guest and NEVER had any problems at other locations. However, as soon as I walked out, an employee came up to my guest and told them they had to leave . As this has never happened before, he did not understand why. The employee told him that he cannot be in the gym without a member, no exceptions and needed to leave right away. Kicking someone out like that, without a warning or explanation, is UNACCEPTABLE. He could have been told that next time I needed to stay with him, instead of being kicked out. WILL DEFINITELY AVOID THIS LOCATION FROM NOW ON.

Gym is kept clean and the staff is friendly. They're open 24hrs so that's definitely a plus.

Love Planet Fitness but this facility unfortunately is older and out dated. Some gear has torn pads, lots of older machines and the bathrooms need to be redone. Some sort of flies in the showers as well.

This is the best Planet Fitness around the area. I've had nothing but an excellent experience there. Staff/management are very pleasant and keep the place in tip top shape. I think the people leaving one star are blaming one place for their membership issues. To cancel or renewals is the main establishment, each place has to follow those guidelines. I highly recommend this one. 5 stars

Great spot. Can't beat the price. New machines as of 1/1/2018. The staff is very pleasant and the location is clean. What else can you want for $10 a month with an annual fee of $40? Can't beat the price!

On Fri, 12/8/17, around 2-3 a.m. (which all of you locals know it was freezing cold!!), I stepped into this place after walking from the intersection of Dempster/Busse, because I got locked out of my apartment about 90 min earlier (long story).
At 1st, the staff member was pleasant. I offered to pay whatever it took to stay in the place until I could get my keys back, then would leave. He refused payment, but allowed me to stay (momentarily).
I sat in a recliner in a discrete area that would not disturb the 4-5 customers that were there. Within a short while, the same employee told me I needed to leave (keep in mind the temp was at least -20). I asked where there may be another establishment opened 24 hrs., so that I can stay warm for the next couple hours and not die from hypothermia. He pointed me towards the McDonald's in the lot about 1.5 blocks away.
I walked there only to find out they were still closed. I walked back across the lot to the Planet Fitness. A new employee (manager I'm assuming) then approached, yelling, and telling me I was already told I needed to leave. I explained I had nowhere else to go (for a short while), and would pay whatever it took to let me stay for another 4 hours (max). He would not accept my credit/debit card that I threw on the table in front of him.
At that point, I got angry as I did not mentally think there was another location open at this time, and I literally thought I could die if they kicked me out again because of the temp outside. The employee did not focus on this point (as I loudly expressed this), but rather focused on my tone and threatened to call the police and reiterrated that I needed to leave (back into the polar temps).
I yelled at him, saying, "Fine, call the police!", as I thought a night in the slammer would be better than the only other alternative they were giving me. I was so frustrated at this point, however, I walked out as the 'manager' was picking up the phone.
I then walked to the Subway at the intersection of 83/Dempster. They were accomodating; understanding that I could die outside in the cold, but enforcing that I leave the location ASAP. They let me stay until Uber picked me up at 8:40 a.m. which is when I had confirmation I could get back into my apartment.
Sorry for the long story, but that is humanitarily wrong! I would've paid whatever, and you still threaten me!?!
Boycott establishments like this that can't even employ people without common sense, as they continue to try to maximize profit without regret!

Trash gym, lied said you can unlimited visit to other gym. I just moved to a new location and I can't transfer gyms cause I'm not a member for 90 days.
GO TO A REAL GYM! LA FITNESS or XSPORT!

I was a member and had to quit then wanted to renew after moving back. Walked in ready to pay with a debit card only to be turned away because I didn't have a check! Completely brainless business model and will just go somewhere else

These place used to be good but now it's getting worst. Mens restroom is dirty as F. Most of the people does not wipe down the machines after use and weights on bench are never taken out. I used to love this place. Such a shame!

Started a membership with my dad-- they let me work out for a week then tell me that I needed to link a bank account to my account and that I would need to leave the gym until I did that.
Not sure why they didn't want to take my money, but that's on them. They don't really have proper equipment anyways.

They didnt let my guest in without an ID. She is in other planet fitness database and usually just gives a phone number. We had to leave, she has had her picture taken at another location. They need to find a better way to manage their systems.

Can't beat this for the price. I've never had any issues with cleanliness. It's never too busy and provides the basic amenities that one would expect.
